The room was very comfortable and super clean and quiet. Loved the materials used, but I would not choose feather pillows or duvets and these did appear to be feather. I understand this is a bio-hotel and the hotel is not fully vegan; just pointing this out for others who may want to know. We walked the grounds on our first evening. There is a pond (which I did not swim in as there was quite a bit of algae), a garden, several horses, pigs and chickens. There is a nice seating area outside and a trampoline and several swings. We saw a few wild deer in the evening. The food was very good but not particularly complex. Breakfast both days included vegan scramble (tofu), porridge with lots of toppings, several homemade breads, fruit, etc. We paid extra (€35/person) for the dinner buffet one night. Perhaps it was my own misconception but I was hoping for more vegan options. I thought there would be for example cheese to add on to things, but instead there was cheese/lactose made into several things (including the only dessert option) so there were a few things we could not have. Again pretty simple dishes. If I had to do again, would not include the dinner buffet in our stay due to lack of choices and overall high cost of the buffet. That said, the hotel itself was really lovely and we enjoyed our stay. One day we drove about an hour to Zugspitze which was a ton of fun. And found a beautiful nature trail on the way back. The next day we went to see the castles nearby. It was a nice location for these outings.

We enjoyed everything about our stay here. The room was so clean, comfortable and homey, complete with bathrobes to use in the spa area. We especially enjoyed the relaxation room and the sauna. There was a secure place to store our bikes for the night. The front desk informed us of a wonderful local band event happening in town the evening of our stay, which was one of the highlights of our entire trip! The location is on a quiet street, but just a short walk into the center of town or out for dinner, groceries. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic - fresh breads and local jams/yogurt/honey/etc. Lots of yummy choices! Also really appreciated the made-to-order eggs.

Markus was a wonderful host who went beyond to accommodate some special requests I had. He was also very communicative and quick to respond. The apartment is small but very cozy. The bedroom is large and comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and modern. The kitchen is small and there is only the mini-oven. But everything works properly. The location is excellent for winter adventures. Short drives away from Allgauer and Zugspitse area. We spent new year's there which was very enjoyable!

The room was very comfortable and provided with everything advertised. The location was excellent, affording easy access to Oberammergau for the Passion Play. Good breakfast, good internet connection.

It really was a delightful place to stay comfortable...

It really was a delightful place to stay comfortable friendly warm easy to get to everything was fantastic only thing I can think of was that perhaps the shower could be changed slightly it wasn’t terribly easy to use, it wasn’t a big problem at all but it might be nice to been able to take the shower handle off the pole!

We loved the location and the proximity to a number of towns...

We loved the location and the proximity to a number of towns of interest. We found the accommodation very enjoyable with great views from a private terrace. The only thing that would improve the stay would be the offer or option of some basic supplies eg soap in bathroom and a few kitchen supplies eg milk, coffee. The property offered all the best appliances but for a short stay it would not be practical to buy everything we needed.

Bad Kohlgrub is not a special place to visit.

Bad Kohlgrub is not a special place to visit. We only stayed there because it was relatively close to where we wanted to go (Steingaden, Garmisch-Partenkirchen) and the price was ok given how expensive that region is.

Great little village with its own charm and ideally located...

Great little village with its own charm and ideally located near Oberammergau, Schloß Linderhof, and Ettal Abbey, but without all the of the tourists and crowds that lodging closer can bring. We just happened to be there the weekend of a music festival which only added to the experience. Only stayed for a long four-day weekend, which is plenty of time to get to know the village, relax, and make some day trips to nearby attractions.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Waldruh and were very pleased with our experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our room was very spacious, super clean, and comfortable. The sauna was a real highlight — a great way to unwind after sightseeing. Breakfast was tasty with a good variety. The hotel is just a short drive from Garmisch, making it easy to explore the area. Would recommend for a relaxing stay.
