Pension Röhrig is located just a minute or two on foot from the Hirzenach train station. I had an upstairs double room used as a single - it was very roomy and equipped with an older easy-chair and a desk with office chair and TV. One large window provided a fantastic view of the river and the cliffs on the opposite riverbank. With the railway in between the building and the river, I thought maybe there'd be noise, but I was wrong - I slept well and experienced no noise at all from the trains which use this railway overnight. The adjacent bathroom was spotless and was also roomy - and also had a big window. A kitchen area (sink, microwave, coffee maker, cooktop, 2 fridges) and dining table are located in the hallway where my room was located. I did not use the kitchen except to make coffee and to store some sandwich supplies in the fridte. Esther was very friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English - just the kind of person you hope to have as a hostess.

The location could not have been better. Rooms were clean and nice. Breakfast was good and filling. Gil was superb and sent us to a couple excellent restaurants. His knowledge and recommendations of what to do in the area made our trip much better.

The hotel looks very modern and well-maintained inside. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony, which was a great bonus in the warm weather. The owner even called a restaurant and made a dinner reservation for us.

The property is a few km from a busy city center and had ample parking. Rooms were comfortable and new, very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had a variety of tasty choices.

This is a lovely small wine village in the glorious MIttelrhein (Middle Rhine) region, offering better prices and no crowds in comparison to the larger towns. Accommodation comes with a Euro 1.5 surcharge, a tiny fee which gives you a VRM travel pass, for free travel on trains, trans and buses over a large area - this is amazing value.

Lovely spacious apartment with views over Rhine.

Lovely spacious apartment with views over Rhine. Well equipped and very clean. Nadine and Matthias were very welcoming and helpful. They run the hotel next door and make their own wine which you can buy and sample in the restaurant which is open Thursday to Sunday and provides good food. We would return .

nice and friendly contact with the owner. a small hotel with a personal service from Mrs Esther. clean and comfortable room, good breakfast, moderate price. the location is somewhat remote, the trains are noisy, but we knew this, and at the end, this was not very disturbing. excellent base to trips around the Rhine

The host who provided the keys operates a hotel and restaurant nearby. Their breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced. We also had a good diner there. The train station is a short walk. Free street parking was always available. Perfect location to explore the Romantic Rhine.
