For us it was the trip, a family reunion and a funeral and memorial for an uncle a trip into the past. Spent many childhood summers and winters here, when my grandparents lived lakeside here. If you like Bavaria and are active, hiking, skiing, swimming, sailing, mountain biking, etc this is a great area. It is also a bit of the Hamptons of Munich, so pricey.

This place is best for cycling and walking in the mountains. It's quite easy to get around on foot, there are lots of hotels, clothes shops and supermarkets, but there aren't too many places to eat and no proper embankment to enjoy the lake.

The hotel is very classy and beautiful. It is very family-friendly and there is much attention paid to details for adults as well as for the little ones. The staff is very friendly and always tries to help. It has a mix of traditional and modern styles. The gardens are beautifully designed with a Japanese touch. The indoor playground Tegernsee Phantastisch is amazing for the small (~2 years) and bigger kids as well. The family suite was very spacious and well-isolated from noise.

The Location is perfect. The hotel is incredibly comfortable, spacious and clean. The rooms are spacious, with stunning views over the lake and mountains. The staff are welcoming, and the restaurants and bar areas are beautifully laid out. All in all, a wonderful experience.
An excellent base for exploring, hiking, and generally enjoying the stunning area.

Beautiful place, the fireplace outside was a very nice touch, very nice location, the reception lady was extremely nice and we liked our room quite a lot. The pool area is beautiful, although we couldn't use the saunas. One of the prettiest classic old style hotels we have stayed in.

We had a very enjoyable 4 days at Haus Kaiser. Our room was spacious and clean. The nice lady running the hotel does not speak English but we were able get translation from a lovely girl at the deli downstairs. It's a bonus to have the deli/coffee shop attached to the hotel.
