We loved staying here. It was so peaceful and quiet, lovely surroundings and a beautiful building. Our room was comfortable and contained everything we needed. Breakfast was great, very classy. Staff were super friendly too.

The rooms are new, tidy, and clean, although small. We got a smaller room for four people than our friends, who are a family of three. But everything was more or less OK. The hotel is in a good location, in a shopping district near the city center. You can easily get to and from the hotel on foot or by car.

Just 5 mins walk from the center. The rooms felt new and renovated and even had LEDs in the room for different colors and fun. Elecric kettle. There is some free parking nearby, not always available. If no space then there's a big paid one. Very friendly staff, got a good morning and a smile from everyone :) In the room- the shower and the toilets are separated, making it easy to prep in the morning

Wismar has a gorgeous historic old town and harbour area that is worth a visit. Beautiful buildings, a lot of restaurants with a great selection of food, beaches and nature closely. There are a lot of choice in fresh seafood and we found it hard to make a decision about where to eat because there was such a great selection. The old town and harbour area are easy walking distance from each other - we walked everywhere. A great short stay although we can imaging visiting for a week or longer because there are so many amazing things to do in the area

Compact city (old part) easy for walking. Sights are close to the train station. Enjoyed most walking along quaint cobblestone streets with ambient lighting (romantic). Beautifully restored gable-house style buildings. Plenty of helpful direction signs to sights. Enjoyed visiting and observing harbor activities. Eat freshly caught seafood at harbor. Nice walk along Wismarer Bay to Bad Wendorf (closest beach).

This is an old town in former east Germany.

This is an old town in former east Germany. It was a key port on the Hanseatic League. The Hanseatic League,[a] commonly called The Hansa, was a medieval commercial and defensive network of merchant guilds and market towns in Central and Northern Europe. Growing from Lübeck and a few other North German towns in the late 12th century, the League expanded between the 13th and 15th centuries and ultimately encompassed nearly 200 settlements across eight modern-day countries, ranging from what is now Estonia in the northeast to the Netherlands in the west, and extended inland as far south as Cologne, and Kraków, Poland. If you're interested in history this is a place to go.

One more comment about the Altstadt apartment: check-in is...

One more comment about the Altstadt apartment: check-in is not allowed until 4p.m. And you don't find that out til after you have paid. We had to while away an hour in a coffee shop, surrounded by our suitcases, as we had already arranged to arrive about 3, which has been the latest check-in time everywhere we've stayed before.

Fantastic town to visit, wonderful buildings and...

Fantastic town to visit, wonderful buildings and architecture, Beautiful and compact sea port with harbour tours and an amazing fish restaurant. Plenty of good restaurants but would highly recommend the restaurant 'Alte Schwede' in the market square. Several very large church buildings with amazing architecture. The town has a very interesting history which is reflected in buildings to be seen.

Enjoyed the harbour and the large cathedral.

Enjoyed the harbour and the large cathedral. Loved all the little shops and the seagulls. My daughter and granddaughter took the harbour trip. As I am unsteady on my feet I found the round cobblestones annoying but nearby was always a flat stone way. Also enjoyed the conversation with a gentleman at the tiny museum who was a member of the gang who played in Soko Wismar....a favorite of mine.

This is a very nice modern hotel located in the historical centre of Wismar next to the medieval Wassertor in the old haven and close to the magnificent gothic Nikolaikirche, and some restaurants almost next door. We got a comfortable and well-equipped double room at the ground floor. The room and the bathroom had everything one needs in a hotel room. The staff are very nice and the breakfast is excellent, even if expensive.

We were little scared about prison style communication, but everything inside was really great, easy access into room, room not small and efficient. Location directly in city center, parking in front of the hotel during the night for free. Highly recommended

The hotel is in the perfect location to explore Wismar . You step out the front door onto the lovely market square It is nicely decorated & my room was super spacious as I was given a free upgrade. Apart from the charming bell tower it was quiet.

The hotel is in a very good location in the downtown. The receptionist lady was incredibly kind and our room was very beautiful, spacious and clean. Parking is possible in the back yard for a small fee.
