We had a short but lovely stay at Hotel garni "Café im Hamm," which is run by a very friendly and kind couple. Our room was clean, modern, comfortable, and had a spectacular riverfront view that was breathtaking. The quaint town of Zell with its many restaurants is about a 20 min. stroll down the river (completely flat), which really isn't a problem, as it enables the property to have amble parking and unobstructed views. The breakfast was simple and tasty, with the typical German selection of meats, cheeses, breads, and cereals. The cafe and beer garden weren't yet open for lunch for dinner for the season, but they looked like they would be a lot of fun in the summer. We really appreciated the comfort of the beds, which were the best we experienced in Europe this trip. We highly recommend this property for a couple or a larger family visiting the Mosel wine region!

I liked the way the property owners did their best to help us get the keys but the lack of English language skills was a bit of a problem. Even though the bike storage was available it was not possible to charge the e-bikes as there was no electrical outlets in the remote location garage.

Zell is a charming village right on the Moselle River.

Zell is a charming village right on the Moselle River. We enjoyed sitting by the river watching the barges and ships. The town is very walkable, and there is frequent bus service to the nearest train station of Bullay. This is a wine town; if you like Riesling, you are in the right place!

The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns We caught local bus to Cochem for the day -- which was very easy we travelled in October so a few places had closed but still enough places to eat and have a glass of wine

Beautiful area with great vineyards and winery’s , along the river very nice bike paths and walking path , you can trek the whole region very easily. Very nice hotels and camping places by the river. Cochem castle and Burg Eltz need to be seen but other small towns by the river also have great views and old ruins to see.

It is a very small village where they produce wine and people are very friendly. A pretty idyllic place and in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in the Mosel to stay for a weekend. There are plenty of restaurants, wineries and bars. It is possible to hike on the Moselsteig (official hiking route) or just cycle along the Mosel. The only negative is that it can be a bit difficult to reach if you don't have a car. Trains only go until Bullay and from there you have to take a bus to reach Zell.

Many restaurants and cafes, bikes for hire plenty opportunity to try local wine before buying. River obviously had a lot of rain before we arrived as it was quite high, you can cruise either on a short trip or longer allowing you to stay on board. Lots of villages and towns in the area to stop off and explore.

Zell is a cute town in a beautiful river valley.

Zell is a cute town in a beautiful river valley. The river boats often make a stop but the town never felt overrun with tourists. The town has Black Cat vintages (wine) and keeps up an easy hike around the grape vineyards with nice explanations as well as benches for a break to enjoy the view. Restaurants , ice cream parlors and wine bars are plentiful in the summer months and many stay open year round as Zell is quite temperate.

Ratskeller: there is no lift for taking the luggage upstairs. The hotel had a great breakfast. The rooms were a good sized rooms with a powerful shower . They offered good housing for bikes. This is a very central plus the hotel is also an Italian pizzeria.

Very nice, modern, and cozy hotel with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The view from the balcony was lovely. If you arrive late, there is a fridge stocked with drinks that you can purchase at any time. The terrace is also very nice.

Do no choose this hotel if you want a sound sleep. The window roof and not be closed and you will be awake by the sun light at 5 o’clock. And the staff and boss were not helpful at all.
