We loved absolutely EVERYTHING about our stay, starting with the warm greeting from our Hosts. We arrived an hour early. The owners graciously showed us the entire building and how all the amenities worked. Mostly, I loved how much care and detail they put into creating an inviting, comfortable, elegant living space.

This place was a real gem. The hostess even left us some local home baked goods for us to try. It's a lovely little apartment, with an outdoor patio as well. The hostess is very communicative and helpful. The place was spotless, I'd highly recommend a stay here.

This is a special town just a short distance from Madrid.

This is a special town just a short distance from Madrid. We were there to visit a friend, so we were shown all the significant places that make this town so unique. It's a treasure steeped in Spain's history. Our favorite experiences were learning that each of the houses has a cave dug deep into the rock to provide the material for building the house. Most of all, we loved the people we met who opened their hearts and homes to us and showed us such warm hospitality.

Colmenar de Oreja is very similar to Chinchón, without the...

Colmenar de Oreja is very similar to Chinchón, without the touristy feel to it. Amazing main square, with an ancient underground passageway below it, cobbled streets, a ravine with panoramic views, and local white stone buildings - and even a stone museum (open at weekends). If you come by car, don't try to navigate the one-way streets in the old quarters - Google Maps goes crazy and won't take you from A to B. If you can, just park and walk!
