Although there is a good bus and taxi service you really need a car for freedom and cost. Area is beautiful and steeped in history and is amazingly tranquil to jut wander any part of it. Set in the hills overlooking magnificent valleys and Nerja Town and beach it is also close to everything that you could want from a holiday. Great food inthe village with entertainment and markets to the history around every picturesque corner. Small shops litter the alcoves with larger ones just a ouple of miles away. The town of Nerja with amazing views, beaches and night life only 10min drive 20 min bus ride away with great restaurants, culture and entertainment from sun up to well past sundown. There is something for everyone for even the simple things in life. I have loved seeking out all the little shops, sandy coves and around each corner another eye-opener to behold. You vould Write it but it would not be believed that you can be chilled out and laid back every day but come back exhausted by the shear quantity there is to discover around every corner. I did not have a bad meal all the time I was there although noted that the best time for dinner was well after 7pm. Pace is laid back from early morning but picks up just before dark. When everything comes alive.

Beautiful village with a lot of charm, history and breathtaking views, and only a 10 min drive into Nerja for the more "holiday maker" style tourism (beach, more shops and restaurants etc.). I like this section of the coast and its surrounding area a lot more than the area a live in (Marbella way), and would definitely recommend coming. I never want to leave when I come!

Our stay in this house was unfortunately very disappointing:
On arrival we were given the wrong address, which caused us to arrive late at the wrong location. The access road to the house is a very narrow mountain road along a rock wall and valley: dangerous if you meet an oncoming car – in that case you either have to drive backwards or hope the other driver takes action.
The house is built right against the neighbor’s property. Just 5 meters away there is a chicken coop with a rooster that starts crowing loudly from 6 a.m. The smell from the chickens is constant and very unpleasant.
The swimming pool was ice cold and unusable.
The bedrooms are not suitable for adults: the “master bedroom” has a very small bed (1.40 m wide and only 1.80 m long), while the second room has two loft beds that are only suitable for children.
Every Saturday, a “pool boy” shows up unannounced and walks straight into the garden, which completely takes away your sense of privacy.
Outdoor furniture and cushions were broken and worn out.
To make matters worse, the host tried to charge us extra electricity costs afterwards (although this was not agreed upon) and even manipulated WhatsApp messages with meter readings as so-called proof. This felt highly unreliable.
For those expecting a sunny holiday: the house is located higher up in the mountains, where there is often cloud cover. Meanwhile, just 15 km away in Nerja, the sun is shining.
We therefore definitely cannot recommend this house.

Quaint beautiful white mountain village close to Nerja but quite and more enjoyable in our opinion. Enjoyed wandering streets. Hikes also looked good but we met in different area with friends so not possible at this time.

Very pretty Pueblo Blanco in the hills above Nerja.
Very pretty Pueblo Blanco in the hills above Nerja. Away from the hustle and bustle of Nerja but an easy 15 minutes into town by car or the local bus.
There are many excellent restaurants in the village and it's definitely worth staying for a day or two.
If you do decide to stay, there are some great walks in the surrounding hills.

We chose Frigiliana as we wanted a walking holiday, so being away from the beach didn't bother us. The village was bigger than expected and had a good selection of bars and restaurants. Prices for eating out were a little better than expected. It did get busy at times, but it seems there's a few visitors come on organised tours. The village is very hilly and some of the alleys/streets are steep

We have visited Frigiliana many times & this was one of our best rentals! Lovely apartment, spotlessly clean & furnished beautifully. The location in the village is great, very central with easy access to car parking below & shops, restaurants etc. We enjoyed having access to the communal pool on warmer days & Nerja for the beach.

Out of the town but easy walk distance for us. Near the mountains with amazing views. Traditional Spanish style with the restaurant overlooking the countryside and sea.

This was a perfect place, immaculately clean, with all the facilities you could wish for. The view is wonderful, the rooms fantastic, the 2 bathrooms a huge bonus. Best place we stayed in in Spain!
