CanadaIncredible disappointment with this property. The host is a complete nightmare of a person. We only booked this for one night for a romantic anniversary, the hot tub was the only reason. When we first checked in the host told us there “may” be a “leak” but it should be “fine”….not fine at all!
We had the hot tub on for 20 minutes and it leaked out of the bottom of the tub all over the room. We spent our romantic evening mopping up water. To make matters even worse, when I expressed my concerns to the host she accused us of breaking her hot tub!!!
No apologies, no accountability. Do NOt stay here, it’s not even cute…very tacky decorations and smells bad.

United StatesMy partner and I got into a car accident on the way to the hotel and Francisco, the manager, truly went above and beyond to help us—he drove us back and forth from the hotel to the town multiple times, helped us contact the local authorities, coordinated with the tow truck, all while serving us a lovely dinner and maintaining exactly the sort of calm kindness that’s so invaluable in a crisis. Honestly, he made an experience that could have completely ruined our trip into just a minor blip. Thank you, Francisco.

The "Cafe Europa" serves an absolutely splendid 3-course...
The "Cafe Europa" serves an absolutely splendid 3-course lunch.
Pampaneira is walked through in a couple of minutes and makes for some nice pictures, but this is the highlight for us, every time we get here.
Other than that you can take a considerable 10km hike all the way up to Capileira and down the other side of the river.
This can be shortended by making it down to the river from Bubion.
We had a very pleasant hike, partly shadowed by trees.
No water source on opposite side, so fill up in Capileira.

An excellent hotel with warm rooms and comfortable beds. This was important, as we were travelling at the end of December. We could have parked in the hotel car park for an extra €15, but we managed to park a little further down the road. I would particularly like to mention the breakfast, which was very tasty and varied. The menu included six types of homemade cakes, including cheesecake, chocolate cake and others. I highly recommend this hotel!

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in Pampaneira. We loved the hostal -- really nice people, good food, comfortable rooms, great location (just a few steps from the bus stop), right in the heart of the village.

Gorgeous, quiet, traditional house in Pampaneira.
Well equipped, comfortable, the design of the house keeps the bedrooms cool.
Amazing terrace with lovely views.
