We booked a twin bed room with shared bathrooms/showers and a shared kitchen. The accommodation absolutely exceeded our expectations. We felt like we were sleeping in a museum with all the old decorations and even though there were shared spaces everything was exceptionally clean! The area in general was also nice and we recommend buying the breakfast they offer since it was very good.

when traveling in Southern Finland, Lovisa (founded in 1745) is worth a visit in the summer. Activities on the water, summer markets, midsummer festivities, open house event in the old town, old fortresses in town and on an island that you can reach by boat. It is peaceful and quaint. Watch out for weekends when most people are in their summer cottages and the town seems dead on Saturdays.

As historical city Loviisa is well balanced mixture of old and new. Overall the city is well kept; harmony, peace fulness and safety is the feeling that greets the first time visitor. There are interesting places for walking around the city, especially in the old part. Also in the near by are great hiking trails in the forest and to the look out tower to see the sea and the trade ships passing by.

Lovely relaxed town with a nice mix of old wooden and newer...

Lovely relaxed town with a nice mix of old wooden and newer architecture. Walking through the unspoilt old wooden town is a delight. The bay and harbour area are good for gentle wandering around. The small maritime museum is interesting and does a good job explaining the local history - worth a visit. Unspoilt and not overrun with tourists. An easy distance from Helsinki.

Beautiful decor and design which felt like a trendy hotel. Fantastic kitchen. Peaceful and scenic spot surrounded by trees near a small river. Supermarket 2 minutes walk up the road. Thoughtful hosts and directions. Would be a perfect space for 1-2 people.
