An amazing fortress city in great condition.
An amazing fortress city in great condition. Lots of shops and restaurants on the Main Street.
Highly recommend visit to MAs du Notary, a vineyard near Port Pleasance on the canal. Pizza de Loan. The pizza are good but the South American food is awesome.

We liked the very harmonious mix of ancient history and modern attractions. The map provided by the tourist office with 40 interesting points of interest marked for you to wander in your own time very useful. We had drinks in many places but ate in La Vigourie and IX Louis only. Both delicious and great value. Even though one of us has a few mobility problems walking around in short bursts worked fine; the town is small enough. Sunday market was excellent for end of season summer dresses, roast chickens and figs! Walking the ramparts (in flat shoes) is probably a must, educational animations along the way are well done with sub-titles. A week is a good stay length, take a short train ride to the sea-side ports, architectural surprises like La Grande Motte and out into the Camargue flats.

We went early to avoid the parking spaces getting full . Nice to do the touristy train ride . It gave us very interesting historical facts .
Nice eateries around the beautiful square . And tourist prices , but that is to be expected . Walking along the marches and canals was nice too .
Definitely worth a visit 👍

We were here overnight waiting for our barge and bike ride...
We were here overnight waiting for our barge and bike ride over the next week to Avignon. We were really surprised at the walled city and took a tour of the ramparts. Amazing structure. Restaurants abound in the walled city and we were told the prices drop as you move away from the central square. Our meal was excellent.

The uniqueness of the hotel within the ancient fortress walls. There are ample shops and restaurants for the tourist. Walking around the ramparts gives an excellent perspective of the town's structure. Trips along the canals to see the wildlife are a must.

Stunning historical city , very accessible , loads to see and do.
The ramparts walking tour is excellent with audio guide you can do at your leisure with loads of interesting towers to visit each one has a different media communication of the history of Aigues Mortes.
We stayed at Villa Mazarin , highly recommended. Beautiful building inside the walls with its own history . staff super pleasant and helpful . Rooms beautifully appointed looking onto the courtyard garden.
Only minus was no complimentary drinking water left in the bedroom. Otherwise perfect location with parking .

I liked everything about this hotel. It was clean, modern, comfortable, and in a good location for the attractions of the area. A small, friendly , well priced bar and seasonal pool provided. We didn't sample the breakfast as there's lots of options nearby.
Free onsite parking is always a bonus.

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. The room was lovely bordering on luxurious. The reception and service from Jean-Pierre was impeccable. The pool was clean and easily accessible.
