The hosts Laurence and Benoit were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The quality of the place, the details, their welcome and the amazingly delicious breakfasts were simply exceptional. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Mady and we are looking forward to go back. Bikes and kayaks available for free on site. Quick walk to the Bassin d'Arcachon. Walking distance to the Centre Ville, about 1.5 kms where many restaurants and shops are. The Port Ostreicole where te local oysters are sold within degustation cabins is a 5 minutes drive away.

We weren't even planning to come to Andernos-les-Bains but...

We weren't even planning to come to Andernos-les-Bains but our plans changed and we are so glad we did. It makes a great base for exploring the area. It is big enough to have all the shops, restaurants and facilities we could wish for but it is also relaxed and peaceful - bearing in mind that we were there at the end of May. We had a lovely time.

What’s not to like?!

What’s not to like?! In addition to wonderful weather it’s got everything for a grown-up few days away - the views around le Bassin, the bars and restaurants, the local shops (from fashion to locally made artisan goods), the proximity to Cap Ferret, Arcachon and so on - and all within an environment where you feel safe all the time. - even if you’ve had a couple of beers. We will return!!!

We have stayed in locations around Arcachon previously, by Andernos les Bains was by far the nicest place we have stayed. Good restaurants and shops including supermarkets. The cycle facilities were outstanding and the town had a nice sea front. Thoroughly recommend Andernos without reservation.

It was a lovely area with nice beach.

It was a lovely area with nice beach. The staff at restaurant Chez L'Oncle Phil were very welcoming and the food was lovely. Staff at the Information Centre however, were not overly friendly or helpful. Would have liked to have taken a boat from Andernos les Bain to Arcachon but could not get information on this, We found the boat ourselves during our stay but we were too late and it was full. The cafe at Cape Ferrat. Extremely expensive - 2 soft drinks nearly £13.00

There is a lot to do in the region.

There is a lot to do in the region. I was a bit afraid to visit out of season, but it might have been a good time to go. Less crowds and still the weather was acceptable and by comparison to other regions in France at the same time, probably better. We had a small rental car to get around and that made visiting easier with our very limited time. We ate fresh seafood at Chez Huguette and that was a good experience, though I think you could probably choose any seaside restaurant and get fresh and delicious food at a fair price. I would return again to Andernos-les-Bains, but next time I would allow more time.

A lovely seaside resort on the Arcachon bay.

A lovely seaside resort on the Arcachon bay. The sunsets were quite stunning. Lots of shops, bars, restaurants and a great weekly market. Felt quite an upmarket place. Quieter that nearby Arcachon but it is easy to visit. Beaches are only available dependent on the tides and so do not have any sunbeds etc so you would need to factor that in if you were thinking of sunbathing on them. If you love seafood this is the place to be but even on a week nights restaurant reservations are needed for the better places.

La Cabane is the most elegant "shack" in which we have ever stayed! It's location to all that Andernos-les-bains offers is amazing. Whether walking or biking. The only reason to have a car is to get there. Then, as did ours, it sits in it's safe location right in front of the gite. Our dog loved the garden (we all liked the little lizards running about). Everything is provided for a wonderful, relaxing, stay at the beach.

The hotel is right on the beach and there's a great restaurant next door in which we had dinner that evening. Reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Parking was good and ample. The room was ok and the hotel also has a small swimming pool (which we didn't use as it was quite busy).

Staff were really helpful and welcoming and room was nice. It’s a short walk from town so very easy to get to the beach and restaurants. Staff helped us to organise bikes which were dropped at the hotel
