Comfortable, clean. The pool was an added bonus and you had the luxury of a hotel with the privacy of your own unit. Location was perfect as we had spent 5 hours in the car to get there. Bar served drinks during the day. We didn’t Bok breakfast but from what I saw it looked lovely. Plenty of clean towels and crisp white bedding. Bliss. The lady at reception was awesome at understanding my broken French and couldn’t be more helpful. Definitely recommend. We stayed two nights with our boys 5/9.

Busy at weekends, lots of restaurants around the port and beach.
Pretty town, wasn’t too busy- we visited at Easter. 2-3 days and found it very relaxing.
C’est la vie restaurant was the best meal we had, good service too.

The oyster's sold on the beach and at the local cafe's are excellent. The people in Cancale and Brittaney are very friendly and helpful - not at all like Paris We also were treated to an impromptu bag pipe band.

Very crowded and parking a nightmare as to access it one has to descend a long steep hill to get there and walking back up it is only for the fittest! They desperately need a circular bus service so that one can park and go by bus. Following my dinner down in the port, I asked the restaurant to order a taxi to return to my lodging and was told explicitly that I would have to order one from St,Malo ( minimum fare 35 € for a 7 min drive! ) Once down in the port the restaurants and bars were excellent. The Mayor treated us wonderfully and the locals against whom we played pétanque were really hospitable.

Cancale is a very pretty breton town with a picturesque sea front with lots of restaurants and a charming 'upper' town with varied and interesting shops and markets. In summer it's best to park out of town (crowded and the streets are narrow) but there's a very good local bus service.

The port area is great with the famous oyster stalls providing really fresh oysters. The walk along the promenade is full of interest. The hill from the port to the town is very steep. The parking on the portside is very expensive.

Very charming little town on Brittany's Emerald Coast.
Very charming little town on Brittany's Emerald Coast. A great place to stay for a few days, hiking the beautiful coastal trails, enjoying all the fresh oysters you can eat, or other great seafood. Easy to make quick trips to Saint-Malo (20 min), and Mont Saint-Michel (45min). Easy to spend 5-7 days, never running out of things to do and enjoy. Totally worth a 4-hour drive from Paris

The hotel is a little dated but look past this and you will have a fantastic stay. The owner and staff could not be more helpful and went out of there way to help us charge one of our bikes. The view out to sea from the room was a lovely touch. Breakfast was a feast with freshly cooked omletes and crepes.

The room is not huge but claasic french hotel with resonable facilitie sand a spectatcular view. Restaurant was superb and I think great value aspecially the set menus. The seafood is unparallelled.
