Perfect place to stay for the weekend. Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Very clean and comfortable, great bed and shower, fresh and delicious breakfast. Close to the main road but completely quiet inside.

Wonderful owner/operators who went above and beyond. We loved it so much we extended our stay. Excellent room set up for a family of 5, we all slept well. The children were sad to leave. The restaurant is excellent. Beautiful setting. Great drinks lost, incredible value. Food was refined and delicious, I would suggest they raise their prices!

The breakfast was ample. Good coffee, tea, bread . Delicious homemade yogurt, jams. We had full use of the kitchen so for dinner we had salads, fruit, cheeses, sausage ( all purchased along our drives)and wine. We purchased the local wine at the Tower/ Chateau of Montaigne, just a 5 minute walk up the hill from the house. We hade wonderful weather so we enjoyed all our meals outside on the patio under a grape arbor overlooking the lovely large garden. Our hosts, Lauren and her husband were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for outings and meals The tower was an interesting place to visit especially if you are a fan of Montaigne’s writings. The château unfortunately was closed because a film crew was using the site at the time. The village is small and very quiet, but lovely.

Montcaret is very central for touring around the southwest...

Montcaret is very central for touring around the southwest of France. You need a car and be prepared to travel to make the most of the area. Fabulous wine region, particularly enjoyed St Emillion wine tasting and town. Bergerac and Beynac were well worth the visit. Restaurants were reasonable and French cuisine was excellent as expected. No disappointments there. Local French people very polite friendly and welcoming

My partner and I had an absolutely incredible stay with Lily and David. They were lovely, attentive, caring and fantastic hosts. 5* hotels could learn a lesson from Lily and David on how to run a hotel. The breakfast was great, the pool was lovely and the hotel was very pretty and clean. Don’t hesitate to book a stay here! Thank you so much both!❤️

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location. After breakfast, I stayed in the restaurant to work and nobody asked me to move on, I was just left alone to get on with what I was doing, and that was perfect. Because of this I stayed for lunch. The food was superb. Thanks team.

Simple but comfortable hotel accommodation, most importantly with excellent air conditioning - it was 40 degrees that weekend and yet my room was beautifully cool. Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
