This place is a gem! Jeff, our host was extremely accommodating! We arrived before check in time. Decided to sit at a table and chairs and enjoy our picnic! Jeff noticed we were there and was so kind to bring us some real wineglasses and a cutting board! The history of this place is so very interesting! Self guided tour was a lot of fun! Beautiful property! We even enjoyed a BIG storm from the safety of our room. We asked for a recommendation for dinner! Jeff suggested and made us reservations at a great local family owned restaurant! The food was truly amazing. Husband and wife team! Each morning we were treated to a lovely breakfast!!

This is a bit of a throwback experience, to times of a quieter and more rural France. The location is perfect, especially if you are seeking some peace and quiet. Montrésor itself is a gem. I can't say enough about our hosts. Madame Sophie met us when we arrived, and as it was Sunday afternoon, way out in rural France, virtually everything was closed. Sophie went out or her way and provided us with bread, milk, eggs, butter, coffee and other items to get us through the night and for morning breakfast. That was very kind on her part.

Photogenic, pretty old town with an interesting chateau with...

Photogenic, pretty old town with an interesting chateau with grounds and contents. The church has some interesting features. The exhibition of glass artworks in the old market hall is certainly worth seeing. Walking along the river banks provides good views and yet more photo opportunities. Mondays are best avoided as almost all the food outlets are closed (just one was open when we visited).

Amazing Property so much history.Huge building with very large interesting rooms.We were given a booklet with information about the history of the Monastery. Jeff our host was very casual and relaxed .Showed us a lounge we could use and a kitchen area to make drinks etc. Breakfast was sufficient and a chance to buy honey from the Monastery,very tasty. Visit to Montrésor is a must, its so close to them.

loved this beautiful old mill which has been renovated very sympathetically and has kept its authenticity. it feels very homely, unlike soulless hotels. It is situated in a beautiful location in a lovely quiet village, which you access through beautiful tree lined roads.

Le moulin de montresor exceeded my expectations, spacious room with private bathroom, very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, beautiful house with a beautiful surrounding park, the best of the best of montresor, 100% recommendable.

The room , breakfast and hostess were lovely . Montrésor is a lovely village with a lovely walk beside the river. Great bar restaurant in town too.
