United KingdomExcellent location for visiting the chateau which is literally next door. The room was fairly basic but clean and with everything needed for a one night stay. Free parking is a bonus too. We ate in the restaurant which was really good. Friendly staff and good service. Excellent value.

Eric and Cathy were perfect hosts: incredibly friendly, they made us delicious breakfasts, they made restaurant reservations for us, and took care of our every need. The rooms were comfortable for the four of us (2 adults, 2 kids (14, 11)), and the pool was very welcome on the hot summer days. The B&B is a little off the beaten path, which led to a tranquility that was perfect. Staying there was one of the highlights of our trip to France!

We enjoyed our stay! This was not a typical hotel but a remodeled villa, which made it unique. The staff was friendly and helpful. Seeing the Chateau of Villandry was our favorite stop of the 5 castles we visited!

The recent history of the chateau was most interesting.
The recent history of the chateau was most interesting. An American heiress and her Italian husband restored the residence to a most livable space for themselves and their offspring. The gardens are beyond magnificent in design and immaculate maintenance.

The Chateaux is the only attraction in Villandry and must be...
The Chateaux is the only attraction in Villandry and must be one of the best in France. (Largely due to the fact that it had been in private hands for years and restored). The town is really a stopping point for cyclist and bus tours galore so must get very busy in the summer as the rainy Sunday had a full car park and a dozen buses. Get to the Chateaux early to avoid the crowds. The tourist office is great and worthy a stop. The lady is a credit to the place.

Villandry is a beautiful village with a wonderful chateau.
Villandry is a beautiful village with a wonderful chateau. We have visited here three times now in different seasons and the chateau - especially it's garden - is always magnificent. Each time we have eaten at the Cheval Rouge restaurant opposite the Chateau, which has great food and charming staff.

The Chateau was fabulous, the gardens, well, you can understand why they have 10 full-time gardeners. The grounds are more impressive than Chenonceau.
Inside the Chateau you are reminded of it's history, however you get the sense that this is a family home rather than a museum piece. Most impressed.

The Villandry chateau is wonderful and the gardens are exceptional. Allow plenty of time to see the chateau and gardens. We ate at our hotel - Haut Lys - which was superb and walking distance up the road. Villandry is very small but it does have a decent selection of cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful setting, with access to a shared garden with the owners main residence. Use of pool and play equipment.
Very comfortable and homely.
Owners very hospitable but mindful of giving us space.
Location near to Villandry and the surrounding countryside.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it completely relaxing.

Beautiful ,near the Château of Villandry. Peaceful ,very clean .The perfect spot to visite the castel. Beautiful garden with bbq.You can visite and Azay-le-Rideau by taxi around 20 eur.Recomanded.

The property is very well located within Villandry opposite some beautiful parkland and an easy walking distance to the chateaux. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great.
