The apartment was well maintained with great detail in sourcing the decor. Soft carpets, lovely fluffy towels and a coffee machine with some milk made me feel like I was home. I will definitely return.

Interesting selection of High Street shops, many of which not found in other UK towns & cities. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby. We also found a really excellent restaurant (Twelve) which we visit every time we’re staying in the area.

My visit was nostalgic.

My visit was nostalgic. I grew up nearby and went to school in Ashby for a couple of years over 50 years ago. Modern Ashby provided a far better experience than I anticipated. It is a vibrant and bustling country town. There is a great variety of places to eat, wonderful cafes, and great pubs. Try them all. With a car you would have access to the National Forest (a far cry from the coal mining areas that I remember) and other local attractions. All my Uber drivers were friendly and helpful and I was able to visit the places of my childhood, which other visitors would not be interested in but made this final visit wonderful for me.

The beeches is a bit tired.

The beeches is a bit tired. In need of a refurb accommodation wise. One room was being decorated when we were there. Our en-suite needed a deep Clean. The cubed shower had a lot of mould / soap residue build up in the door channels, the shower spray needs replacing and the water not that hot. The basin needed a good clean around the over flow hole and base of the taps. When we moved a bedside cupboard we found a mouldy satsuma and a tin of Vaseline from a previous occupant. The room was a bit scruffy with unnecessary fake flowers. A huge tv, too big for the room. However it was cheap at £65 per night, the bed was comfortable and linen clean and decent towels. The unexpected continental breakfast left in a wicker basket was a bonus and good quality. All in all you get what you pay for but a dirty bathroom and shower is no excuse. Location was perfect for our onward journey.

The staff were extremely helpful, accommodating, friendly and professional. We had a last minute booking but I was really glad they were able to fit me in for a massage which was not cheap but it amazing and left me feeling revitalised and relaxed. The dinner was lovely and healthy buffet breakfast very nice.

The pub staff were amazingly friendly and helpful despite busy Sunday lunchtime service. They were professional, kind and fair. Hope they get paid enough... Good location near Ashby and reasonably priced which was why I chose it. Plenty of parking. People seemed to be enjoying the food in the restaurant.

We stayed here for a family wedding near by. Lovely location and, a short drive into the village, there was no breakfast option however Greggs was in the village and plenty of other options. The pub was very welcoming a great choice of beers, though we didn't eat there the carvery looked amazing.

The former New Inn is cosy, extremely comfortable, beautifully equipped and impeccably clean and tidy. And so much better than a hotel room where you have to park miles away - here you park outside the front door!

It was well situated near the venue we were to attend the following day. The room was clean, the parking was out of the way, safe and covered by CCTV. The welcome was gret as was the custom breakfast.
