Lovely old style building with cozy comfy rooms. Coffee and tea facilities plus water provided. Also wifi is very good even in the rooms across the courtyard. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Stayed twice now and will stay again when next in the area.

The barn is super cosy and has everything you need for a short stay in comfortable accommodation, it’s well designed with great facilities and homely touches. It’s secluded and private but set in a great location for access to many areas of natural beauty. The hosts are extremely accommodating and couldn’t do more to make your stay comfortable. The dog friendly facilities are safe and secure and is a home from home.

We stayed in one of the Shepherds Huts and it was beautiful. We got lucky with the weather but with all the little touches it could even be great in colder months. The hot tub, the smart TV, the modern and clean decor of the hut and the view - loved it all!

Perfect little gem of a place for a couple visiting Suffolk. It was immaculately clean, warm & cosy for a week’s break in February and had everything we needed to self cater. One of us particular dietary needs so it is important to us to be able to self cater comfortably. The owners made us very welcome on arrival & we felt we could easily contact them if a problem arose. We would highly recommend The Lily Pad & hope to return.

I waited around 10–15 minutes to check in, even though the reception area was completely empty. I rang the phone twice to let someone know I was there, and when I was finally greeted, I mentioned that I’d been waiting. The receptionist replied, “I haven’t been that long,” which I found quite dismissive. The room was already paid for, but I was told I needed to present a debit card. When I explained I didn’t have one with me, I was then told my card details were already on the system—so I’m not sure what the issue was in the first place. The room itself was spacious, but the cleanliness was appalling. The bath clearly hadn’t been cleaned in some time, so I didn’t use the shower facilities at all. The extractor fan was covered in cobwebs and dust—far beyond what could be overlooked. I emailed the hotel on Sunday after returning home, including photos and videos as evidence, but I still haven’t received a response. Very disappointing experience overall.

We stayed here as it was close enough to where we needed to be over the weekend and far enough away with good roads. There was a good choice for breakfast and fresh. We never dined in the evening but the menu looked acceptable .

From the moment I checked the staff were exceptional.

From the moment I checked the staff were exceptional. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. My room was perfect for my needs and was serviced by wonderful staff. Breakfast offered everything I could possibly need. The onsite restaurant is amazing, great range and well cooked. Thank you for another great stay.

No heating or hot water. Boiler break down. We're left to freeze with my disabled partner and my daughter had a new born baby. No staff member informed us of this problem until we made a complaint

Room 107 was a disgrace.

Room 107 was a disgrace. There is something seriously wrong with the plumbing. It may be previous guests leaving nappies down the loo but when we came to use it the flushing system did not work. The toilet filled with water and the contents were not removed. Someone tried to resolve the issue with a plunger but it was resolved. We had to use the public toilets near reception and were grateful for these. We had a beast in our room - beetle? Maybe but cockroach 🪳 more likely. Pictures are with the staff at Brome Grange. Breakfast was chaos. Too little space for the number of people and items like fried eggs and croissants missing.

Stayed one night, which was enough. I suspect the restaurant menu does change very often each year. Old hotel caught in a past era - some upgrading but all unimaginative and dated. Rural location also meant staffing dificulties and closed facilities/lack of service. Completely lacking in atmosphere, sense of arrival or rural location. View from room of the rural location non-existant - pity; many opportunities lost.

our room was huge - we did book a suite for the night of our wedding (closest hotel!) - the room was large clean and had a massive jacuzzi bath in it. bed was huge and very comfortable. breakfast was very yummy. receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was very poor, very little option. Staff not available at breakfast or evening. Have to go and find staff somewhere in the hotel when trying to order at the bar.
