Did have a nice room. Very high ceiling big room, big bathroom and big bed so happy. Breakfast was included and very nice selection. I also give 10 out of 10 due to the fact they give the tea or the coffee in a pot. I love my tea in a teapot. Cannot stand the hotels that expect you to put a teabag in a cup to get a good cup of tea. So enjoyed my time there and glad I booked that hotel.

Booking was easy and uncomplicated. The hotel is in an excellent location. Breakfast was and my one evening meal were excellent. The staff are very efficient, attentive and friendly. Many years ago when I would visit Croft and Hurworth to visit my grandmother and family I would see the hotel and always wondered what is would be like. It always looked special. It was

Darlington itself is a massive place with so many different villages. I stayed in Staindrop, a village about 20 minutes from Darlington itself, but its still in Darlington. In the middle of country side.

Charming town that I didn't know much about previously.

Charming town that I didn't know much about previously. I had to rush over for a short stay for a family emergency and immediately remarked on how nice everyone was and how charming it all is. Lovely for a weekend away to unwind and stroll around parks and nice streets. There's a lot I didn't see but would love to go back - plus it seems to be well served by trains. Would recommend.

Plenty of shopping and a conscious effort to tie into railway history. Nearby Raby Castle was quite impressive and travel to Darlington by rail and around town on foot, as well as bus, was easy. Not typically a tourist destination, but I had family from Darlington, some of whom went to the States in the late 19th C. The public library has an excellent local history department Saint Cuthbert's Church is a lively, very old, stone building at the center of town. Saltfish, located in Houndgate Townhouse, serves excellent food.

If staying in centre not a lot of choice of Hotels especically with FREE parking. Plenty of walks nearby hotel IE South Park. The shopping areas are being depleted by the closure of Binns & continued loss the the Indoor market. Transport slightly scattered around the Market Area no BUS station as such. Railway station a little way out undergoing restoration! Loads of places nearby to visit Heritage Railway @ North Road & Locomotion@ Shildon, Barnard Castle (Handy for getting yours eyes tested). Durham & Richmond worth a visit sorry a Covid joke! Few eateries including Tapas Bar & Saltfish Fish restaurant in Houndgate. Good theatre now the Hipperdome was the Civic

One or two of the shops were OK.

One or two of the shops were OK. We ate with our sister-in-law, who lives in Darlington. We did, though, have a lunch near Piercebridge, in a garden centre. I don't think we'd stay in Darlington again - we'd choose somewhere outside the centre.

Hotel near to good road access but very quiet itself and back from road. Darlington itself is a mix of old and new. Still enough of the history left to make it enjoyable. Lovely cafe above Waterstones. Good craft and real ale bar a short walk from Ballantyne. Town Centre still has a good Department Store. You can go anywhere from Darlington rail station for a day trip. Locomotion museum is great for families.

A really nice hotel, the room was great, very comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful. And the location near the train station and town centre was ideal. If I'm staying over in Darlington again, I would definitely stay here. Excellent value for money too.

Quirky hotel in an older building. Nice big rooms, but bathroom could do with an update. Breakfast was good. You can use the Bannatyne gym and spa facilities, but be aware that they are about a 5 min drive away. Great location in the centre of Darlington
