The British and local energy is so incredible - great way to get to know the country and its culture through an experience. The pub downstairs is so lovely - downtown the details. Food exceptional. The rooms were so tastefully decorated and you get a personalized note, snacks and music playing upon check in. They don’t do this kind of hospitality anymore. 10/10 would do 100x again and recommend to everyone!

The annexe was a beautiful home for us for a week, while visiting family in the area. It is completely secluded and private yet still close to Dorking town-center. We often walked through The Nower, which was beautiful to be around. The property & the hosts are exceptional. The flat/living space is small cozy but has everything you need. All brand new appliances. Well kept, & very clean. We worked while our stay, the wifi was good, no issues. I think once the weather is warmer (starting May) it might be even better with using the patio space. We'll definitely be back.

Dorking has a lovely town centre with a number of places to eat. There is stunning countryside and the lovely Box Hill walks are a must. At the top of Box Hill there is a lovely cafe, decent toilet facilities and a tap to top up your water bottle. Stepping Stones is a great place to cool off and very picturesque. Great roads make it easy to access everything Dorking has to offer.

Lovely place--steeped in history and not many people and visitors know that. For example More Place was the home of the Surgeon to Henry V and fought at Agincourt in 1415. Much of the old house still survives. The church is also pretty ancient although much modified over the centuries--well worth a visit.

we had stayed at the hotel previously and enjoyed it so decided to return to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The only grips was that the window view I paid for was limited and to make the most of it we need to move furniture and the window wouldn’t stay open. It was a very hot day but much cooler night and if we could’ve opened the window we would’ve had a much better night sleep. We were provided with a fan in the room that was far too noisy and made a little difference to the ambient temperature. Small but significant observations.

Lovely town with good shopping.

Lovely town with good shopping. Countryside walks and lovely scenery. We ate at Roosters Restaurant, great decor and amazing food. We went to the theatre, Dorking Halls, good location. Will be back in Dorking soon.

We went to Dorking to do a bit of countryside walking.

We went to Dorking to do a bit of countryside walking. We started each walk form Box Hill visitors' centre. We followed the Juniper Trail which is a decent length with some rather steep sections. While those were a bit of a challenge, the uphill was not too long, so for an averagely fit person it's fine. We also tried the Stepping Stones trail, which is shorter than the Juniper one, but with steeper and longer downhill and uphill sections and a flat section alongside the river Mote. I loved it! everywhere the views were amazing.

Location is great , box hill and Westhumble train station 5 mins walk.bus stop opposite going towards leatherhead and one the other side towards Dorking. Handy for us as we don't drive. Had a room with balcony which was lovely. Hotel lovely ,food ok ,found a lot of oil used on things ,too much butter on my salmon ,eggs and bacon bit oily otherwise fine . All staff very helpful. Will return to try and climb some of box hill. Wasn't the weather for it and river mole was on flood alert unfortunately. We are in January 😂

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location! Wonderful staff and food, especially the lime and avacado cheesecake, which was divine. There was a wedding on the night I stayed but this had no impact on me, other than the great vibe it created.
