Just a great location, freindly and helpful owner and staff, great food - best fish pie of the trip. Just great. The climb up the hill from Portwrinkle was a bit of a challenge but worth it.

Walk along the beach that never ends.

Walk along the beach that never ends. Have a meal at The Mulligan Inn on the seafront. Drop in for a coffee at The Beach Hut Cafe or book a table there for a delicious meal upstairs with exceptional views across the sea.

Location is excellent if you have the right accommodation - Tamar bedrooms are not for more than one night really and certainly no good if you need an early breakfast to be at an event off site. With bedside tables and small chairs it would be more comfortable.

We went a week too early as most places either not open until April 1st or did not open until late afternoon. Parking in many places was free until 1st April. Only a few places to eat but all were nice. Everyone was very friendly but lanes are excruciating tight.

Loved the area and explored lot’s locally.

Loved the area and explored lot’s locally. There are a couple of great pubs and restaurants nearby. The beach us great fir dogs 13 months of the year. Could nit fault the accommodation or the people who were so friendly. I have already booked for next year! The only downside is there are no local shops.

A hidden gem on Cornwall's south-east coast — peaceful, dog-...

A hidden gem on Cornwall's south-east coast — peaceful, dog-friendly and absolutely stunning. Downderry is a quiet, unspoilt coastal village that feels like a proper escape from it all. It's lesser known than nearby Looe and Polperro, which is exactly what makes it so special. The beach is dog-friendly all year round, with sand, shingle and rock pools to explore at low tide. Perfect for long walks with a four-legged friend. The Inn on the Shore is right on the beach with panoramic views across the bay to Rame Head and Looe Island. On a clear day you can even spot the Eddystone Lighthouse in the distance. But for the best pub grub, head to the Smugglers Inn just along at Seaton — proper hearty food and a brilliant atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can properly switch off. No crowds, no fuss — just sea air, stunning views and a cracking pub on the doorstep. We'll definitely be back.

We loved staying here. Location was perfect.

We loved staying here. Location was perfect. View to die for from our room having a sea view. .very quirky place with great enthusiastic staff and very welcoming. Really friendly atmosphere. Food was great and very good menu choice. .lots of outside eating tables . Rooms were very nice but only criticism , the corridors and stairs could do with a paint refresh ,but everything else was great. Will definitely stay again
