I went to a peaky blinders wedding and it was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and attentive. It was spotlessly clean. For an old building the facilities in our room were perfect.The food was very nice and the drinks are good value. The manager could not do enough for the quests. All round a fantastic stay . Xxxx

Dudley is an old Black Country town that became less prosperous after the opening of the Merry Hill centre and has become more run down over the years. However, it does offer the zoo and Black country museum which is a must visit. Many good restaurants in the area.

I love the fact that it was our anniversary and we were...

I love the fact that it was our anniversary and we were treated well. We were given complimentary drinks and meal for both of us and a lovely hand written card from the staff at the Copthorne. The view from our hotel room was awesome, restful and quiet clean setting bathroom and comfortable. The food was good and good communication and updates right from the beginning of our booking until we left. Because my husband suffered from dementia and mobility the rotation door at the reception didn’t work well for us and one of the staff opened the emergency exit but still couldn’t used it because there was a dip and the scooter couldn’t get over it. That dip could be levelled out and that would be lovely. The access to the back garden could be more accessible too. Otherwise it is a beautiful place to stay

An excellent Black Country town, with excellent pubs,...

An excellent Black Country town, with excellent pubs, takeaways and restaurants. Much to do during the day too, a zoo, The Black Country Museum, and a castle to visit as well as quality shops. Easy to get to, and good parking near the High Street.

We went to Dudley for family history and to visit the castle...

We went to Dudley for family history and to visit the castle and museums. It met expectations. There were plenty of eating places within walking distance. Wren's Nest was not well advertised or accessible (the car park not being open at weekends). I would say that Dudley does not make the most of it's fascinating history. Our favourite place was the Black Country Living Museum which we visited over two days (the tickets are valid for a year).

A complete dump!

A complete dump! Litter scattered everywhere: the centre a desolate zone of booking shops, hair dressers and nail shops. Too many drivers going far too fast: and inadequate local bus service: trams long gone. We did find some kindness and some lovely food from a Sri Lankan and South India place called Dosa Corner. That we can recommend! It was just an overnight so bar walking to the town centre and eating well, and a taxi home that was it.

Black country museum is fantastic

Black country museum is fantastic Dudley zoo and castle is well worth a trip There's a cinema bowling and plenty of eateries nearby Dudley archives makes for an interesting few hours Merry hill isn't too far for a shopping trip there's a bus station and looks like a tram service soon to be completed The town itself looks like it's seen better days and is fairly run down

Friendly staff, and great breakfast with a spacious dining area. Some other hotel dining areas are like shoe boxes in comparison. Great comfortable bed and nicely furnished room. Will definitely use it again, and take advantage of the swimming pool. Ps, plenty of parking space and free at weekends
