Great location. Easy to find with very good directions from owners. Had a minor issue when I could not find the thermostat for the heating but this was put right speedily. Communication before and during my stay was excellent. The property is small but very cosy and contains everything one might need. I might find it a little small for two people but that's a personal feeling. A very comfortable bed. I would love to stay again.

We had a lovely stay at The Swallows Nest. The property was really spacious, beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. Deb had even put the heating on so the property was lovely and warm when we arrived. The bedroom had loads of wardrobe space and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge with a bath and separate shower cubicle. The kitchen was massive with everything you could possibly need. The lounge had really comfortable sofas, great for relaxing in the evening watching the huge TV. There was direct access to the lovely garden which was great for our dogs, who enjoyed saying hello to Deb and her dogs! The property was more than just dog friendly, it was definitely very welcoming to our dogs, with a massive selection of treats, bowls and blankets. There was also a huge selection of treats for the humans too, aswell as butter and milk in the fridge. Deb and Rob were so friendly and helpful, with great recommendations for places to go and pubs to eat that were dog friendly. The Dambusters Inn was a great place to eat with amazing food. We would definitely stay at The Swallows Nest again 😁

Close to River Trent.

Close to River Trent. Village is spread out with main road to Lincolnshire passing through. Honey Cottage is easily accessible with excellent free parking and lovely owners. Apartment compact and well planned. Kitchen area equipment looks almost new - stocked with good quality crockery, etc. Sitting/eating area has comfortable 2-seater settee, cushions, 2 basket chairs, small table & 2 dining chairs. Good TV with Netflix etc and free wifi. Bedroom has chest of drawers, wardrobe, 2 bedside lamps, 2 alarm clocks, firm bed with 4 pillows, quilt & furry overthrow. Small shower room. Efficient wall heaters in sitting area and bedroom. Very close to Maharaj Indian restaurant (also take away or village delivery) and a pub (serving evening meals). Church close by. No shops in village. If you have transport, nearest shops are at Saxilby village (well stocked Coop (& PO), variety of other shops, including butcher, cafe, fish/chips and Chinese takeaways plus 2 pubs and Railway Station. Buses through Saxilby to Lincoln (catherdral, castle, famous Steep Hill, shops, Universities etc) & Gainsborough (medieval Old Hall and variety of shops). Large car boot fair on Sundays and excellent antique centres at nearby Hemswell. Cafes, farm shop and boutiques at Doddington Hall, next to the magnificent hall. The area has lots to offer and Honey Cottage is worth using as your base - excellent value. Bridge over Trent has tolls (50p for cars)
