Excellent stay! Really nice property with a very large open plan kitchen living area. We were visiting on a work trip and the large dining table was just what we needed to work on. Nice to have a pint of milk and a few light bites when we arrived (and cold bottle of wine in the fridge). Beds were comfy and nice decoration. Village has a shop and quality pub for food and drink. Nick and his wife are close by if needed.

This location is on the same estate that I lived in as a small child in the early 1960s, and it hasn't changed much since from what I saw. Of course I used this as a base to visit other locations within Nottinghamshire, as well as to see any developments within Ollerton itself, which is soon to be expanded through a regeneration scheme.

My partner and I recently enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's Day stay at Acorn Cottage, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The location is fantastic, being close to the legendary Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak, offering opportunities for beautiful walks and exploring the area. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The owner was absolutely amazing – so welcoming and helpful. The cottage itself was perfect; it had everything we could possibly need and more. It truly felt like a home away from home. We had an absolutely fantastic time, and it made our Valentine's Day extra special. The location was also ideal, being close to both a pub and local shops, which was very convenient. We will definitely be booking Acorn Cottage again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway, especially those wanting to explore the beauty of Sherwood Forest.

Great sandwich shop. Plenty of choice for eating. Lots to see and do. As had small child the Sherwood Forest adventure playground was close and great. A small railway was close by as well. Host provided a parking permit for 2 car parks for a small fee. Very grateful.

Booking was with ease.

Booking was with ease. The host contacted us, providing a mobile number. On arrival we were met in the car park and given a tour of the home ensuring we had everything we needed. There were some treats left for us, including tea, coffee and milk. The home was spacious, exceptionally clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. Lots of extra detail for us to feel very welcomed. Town an easy stroll. Sherwood Forest on the doorstep. Lots of lovely walks with pubs close by too.

Very nice town/village and everyone is very friendly. 1. St. Mary Church is a must visit and we learnt a lot from Peter. 2. Major Oak is another must, we walked around the forest twice. 3. Also in morning we bought very nice cheese and sausage roll from Goff's butcher.

Booked room with single beds.

Booked room with single beds. On arrival found separate rooms with a single bed in each. One room only had window from en-suite. It appears to be a family room as next door is a four foot bed for adults and thus the two singles are for kids. All very clean and tidy albeit no drawer space except that next to bed and dearth of hangers. Breakfast very good with variety.
