As we were embarking on a cruise I cannot really comment on...
As we were embarking on a cruise I cannot really comment on Grays Thurrock as we didnt spend any time there. The Lakeside shopping centre offered a wide range of shopping and eating facilities and it is very close to the cruise port on the right side of the river.

Let’s start from pluses- it’s a free parking in front of the house, the house is big enough and has big garden, it’s a good wi-if, big TW, and house is warm. Minuses- the house is really dirty, looks like they didn’t clean. Bathroom is dirty and not enough of towels, shower is broken, and water is coming calls or hot. on the kitchen they didn’t leave any towels at all. In the house you will receive the instructions “ if you don’t need the light turn off”. And that’s really sad, to tell guests what to do. This house need a big cleaning and to improve customer service.

This hotel is currently under construction and rooms are...
This hotel is currently under construction and rooms are across a dark parking lot that has construction workers around and under construction ..it was noisy. I had flown all night and wanted to nap a very Loud under me I did call and ask for another room but was told construction all day at the moment. Also not happy with how far my room was from front area. Room was clean but wouldn’t have stayed if known about issues ahead. Also had my family pick me up from their parking lot and he was sent a 100 pound ticket for that:(. So unnecessary and fortunately my cousin complained and was excused but that is ridicules for just a pick up!

This place is awful!
This place is awful! Basically it is rooms in a flat above a very scruffy looking closed restaurant with no staff at all on the premises.
After a 280 mile trip arrived at 6pm and the premises were all locked up and there were no staff there. You are supposed to check in at the restaurant but it was closed. So had to wait outside. Called the number for the property on booking.com over and over again but it just went to voicemail. Looking through the emails found a different number and called it and left a message. A guy called back (eventually) at 8pm and he was extremely rude, and threatened to cancel the booking. He said he had not had any missed calls (even though he was calling me back)! He just gave me a code to put into the keysafe to find a card. This is so insecure, anyone could have that code and I could have been anyone - there were no checks. So after 2h of being abandoned in a strange place on the road I was able to access the accommodation - how welcoming!
The property boasts 'wifi, restaurant, bar, room service, business centre' but none of these things were provided. You have to climb over the foot of your bed to go to bed as the 'double' room is so small there is no room between the walls and the bed. The toilet and shower are shared. Even though it is called b&b there is no facility to have breakfast. Not only is there no 'business centre' but there is not even a table or shelf in the room to out your lao top!

Grays has the benefit of historical monuments like coal house fort in East Tilbury and the benefit of very good quality countryside in Orsett , Horndon and Bulphan
Grays always has the benefit of one of the finest shopping facilities in Essex which is the Regional shopping centre called Thurrock Lakeside , the shopping centre has a wide range of shops , restaurants and plenty of leisure facilities

It's a great place to stop after crossing the Thames via...
It's a great place to stop after crossing the Thames via Dartford. Ideal for a night followed by a very comprehensive breakfast. All the staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful.
Strongly recommend.

We had a spacious room, which was clean and well furnished. We did not eat in the bar as there was only one vegetarian choice, which did not appeal to me. We ate the evening meal in the restaurant and again the veggie choice was limited. I instead I had the pasta with seafood, which was absolutely delicious. The breakfast was excellent, with a great choice. This is our third stay at this hotel and we will book there again.

Cost was very attractive - for a studio - vs a hotel room. Location was great for our purpose. On street parking easy. Booking and access was easy. No fuss, no drama. Kitchenette was well equipped - fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle - plus crockery & cutlery for 2. There was space to move the double bed away from the wall for an aisle either side.

This was booked very last minute and host was very accommodating and understanding, I will definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in Essex
