Lovely stay. The bathroom is very spacious, with a nice bath and is squeaky clean. The room is very cosy with a biscuits and tea set. Breakfast was great, and it was lovely to talk to the hosts and get the know them. Location perfect to explore the area

The location was lovely and out of the way. A short walk into the village for anything you needed from a pint at a nice local pub, to bread and newspaper, cheese etc from a shop with everything. Even the walk to Hartland Quay the following day was lovely, through trees and fields, onto a quiet road up to the beautiful church in to next village, Stoke, then on to the coastal Path. Tim was brilliant. Nothing was too much and the eggs, milk and butter were a great touch. We didn`t use the log burner, but its I can imagine it roaring away on a cold evening. I cant praise the cottage, location or Tim highly enough.

We were very impressed with the location of the property. It is hidden in the countryside yet easily accessed from the main road. There are interesting places within walking and driving distance from the hut. Anna our host was extremely helpful, before our arrival and during our stay. The property is compact and well provisioned. The shower is excellent and all the facilities worked very well. It was warm and comfortable.

The dramatic landscape and the sea were amazing.

The dramatic landscape and the sea were amazing. To be so close and to see how different it could be from one day to the next was stunning. Also walked to Spekes Mill Waterfall approx 45minutes on coast path. Well worth a visit.

Loved the quieter part of this peninsular. So rugged and beautiful. Would loved to have done some coastal path walks. Next time definitely would consider staying longer to allow for walks as well as sight seeing.

Hartland is a quiet village in North Devon with some pubs, a shop and a takeaway. Hartland Quay is 2 miles away offering a pub and hotel next to the sea with some wonderful views and a beach. The walk to Hartland Quay from Hartland Point has some spectacular views and it's possible to walk to Clovelly from Hartland Point as well. Hartland Abbey is worthy of a visit especially the gardens and the walk to the beach.

Hartland is tranquil and conveniently located.

Hartland is tranquil and conveniently located. There are buses to Bude, Clovelly and Bideford. For a small peaceful village there is a lot going on, with three pubs running many activities. We enjoyed joining the Shanty Choir one evening. The village also has two well-stocked shops, both with good opening times into the evening. There is a woodland walk down to the abbey and the roads are quiet enough to walk safely.

We extended our stay in the area by a day and chose this Hotel specifically because of it's name. We were very pleased with our stay the staff were friendly service excellent. The food was excellent and the views out side were stunning, though the location of the Hotel behind it's ancillary building limited the view from the rooms. I'd certainly stay again.

As you start to explore the area what you realize is that there is far more to see and experience than you'd first considered. If you haven't chosen to stay for a few days you'll regret it. We have deeply enjoyed our stay of just two days and no matter the weather it took us deeper and deeper into history and the natural environment around this whole region. So much to explore and learn about. Take more time!

Quiet, rural, farm location. Wonderfully friendly dog/s. Shout out to Ruby, her attention and demands for strokes made our day. Use of the hot tub/sauna was bookable and was no trouble. Very well appointed.
