I was staying there for work, so only had a look round in the evenings. Seemed very run down, many empty shops. Even at 6,30pm the place was quite, very little happening or open. Convenient for working in Emsworth, but wouldn't stay there for a break.

I used to live in Havant, and it's become a little run down since my last visit, ten years ago. There is now only one ATM in the town , which the receptionist kindly directed me too. The hotel and town centre is very convenient to the railway station which was a big bonus to me.

excellent base for every traveller...................I stay at the Bear Hotel in order to visit family local to that area.........I was a Senior Visitor Host at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for 20 years, and recommend that site as exceptional (suggest bus rather than car....... door to door, and so easy access wise)

Havant was a town which had all we needed.

Havant was a town which had all we needed. It was a good place to stay overnight. I’m not sure what else is in the area as we didn’t have time to check it out. We ate at the local Wetherspoons which is always good value for money but there were other options such as McDonald’s or Dominos if that’s preferred. We didn’t go too far as we wanted to stay within walking distance of the hotel.

The property was very well appointed, clean and welcoming.

The property was very well appointed, clean and welcoming. The one comment that we made to the owner was rectified without fuss or delay. This fact along must place this accommodation on the highest possible level. I would have no hesitation in rebooking this accommodation. The facility had the bonus of providing means to cook a light meal at the end of an exhausting day of visiting nearby attractions. A comfortable bed was also of great relief.

Havant has some delightful little streets off the main high street a great museum and theatre, a regular market day and a welcoming church right in the centre. The bus and train stations are close to each other and the town has a good variety of shops within walking distance.

The breakfast was good apart from my wife is gluten and dairy free the lady in the morning was very helpful but the evening before we wanted to eat in the hotel when we asked a member of staff what meals my wife could have she was no help at all , all she offered was a jacket potato we had to go out to find my wife something to eat not very easy on a bank holiday

Our room was perfectly comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and the location was ideal for visiting other towns. There is a bus stop at the top of the road and you can go in both directions - see the rest of the island or cross the bridge into Havant. Buses from there visit Southsea, Portsmouth and Chichester etc.

The hotel was fabulous with very comfortable rooms and amenities. The location is ideal for a holiday or if you have your own transport. The public service is rather unreliable. We were dependent on it to get to our meetings in town and had to use the taxi service a few times as there were no buses.

The room was very spacious and comfortable plus the property was very clean. The host Keith and his Housekeeper Helen were very pleasant and welcoming and the location was very quiet but close enough to the local town to be able to walk (circa 20 minute walk to Havant Rail Station).

It's extremely handy for the train, being only a 10 minute walk away, and it's right in the centre of town. The cooked breakfast is good, and I was pleased to see they now keep the breakfast open to a more leisurely 10 a.m.. The price is quite cheap compared to other hotels around.
