The property is excellent, a real home from home with everything we needed even leaving all our dogs a little goodie bag. The hosts were really helpful and available if ever we needed.

A hotel with lot of character. Old fashioned but very charming. Aurther was super professional and helpful. We got the family room which was large. The bathroom was modern. Water pressure great! Tea coffee in the room. In morning there was light breakfast with cereals, milk, juices, toast yogurt etc. the dining area was huge with bright light. If I were a writer I would have chosen this quiet hotel for a longer lovely stay. That sums it up!

Repeat customer. Facility is unchanged from 2022. As before, limited kitchen hours, but they disclose that up front (bakery across the street is fresh each morning...). Online photos are accurate.

Received directions and lockbox pin code almost instantly, was able to store my pedal bike on the patio, the caravan was spotlessly clean and the wifi was fast, theirs a Smart TV with free view, I used it to watch YouTube, appliances were easy to use, fresh milk of my choice was waiting in the fridge along with quality biscuits, the place is scenic, I was able to get fresh sea air whilst I rode my bike around the coastal path, exactly what I was after for a overnight static caravan stay.

Great value for money! Highly recommended. I enjoyed 3 nights in a beautiful, comfortable, clean room with great facilities (including an excellent shower and tea and coffee making facilities). East Mount House is in a picturesque, quiet, convenient location along tree-lined Abbey Road, within quick, easy walking distance of the town centre, Barrow Park, the docks, the abbey, and the hospital. There is a bus stop right outside the door (with buses around Barrow running every 10-20 minutes), and a Co-Op, petrol station, convenience store, and Subway just across the road. There is also a nice pub just down the road, within a 2-minute walk, serving food and drinks. The hosts are very friendly, attentive, accommodating, and helpful, happy to do everything they can to ensure their guests have a pleasant stay. They provide all guests with a front door key so that they can come and go as they please. There is no curfew. They also provide all guests with a detailed booklet that includes useful information for exploring the local area, including recommendations for restaurants and other forms of entertainment. But what impressed me most was the high-quality breakfast, which included an amazing selection of fresh berries (including strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries), a wide selection of breakfast cereals (including my current favourite, crunchy nut cornflakes), delicious fresh juices (including orange juice and apple juice), and even a selection of fresh yogurts, cereal bars, breakfast biscuits, breakfast pastries, and fresh fruit (including apples and bananas). Tea, coffee, toast, and a full English breakfast are all available too, cooked to order for each guest. I ordered fried eggs on brown toast, and it was cooked to perfection, with enough toast to finish off with raspberry jam on toast. My idea of the perfect breakfast! I'd say it was one of the best hotel/guest house breakfasts I've ever had!

Note that there have been issues with water quality. But the coach is beautiful and there are other beaches with excellent water quality within 10 minutes drive. Small Londis for picking up bits and pieces.

Haverigg is a good based for exploring the west side of the lake district because of the railway station in Millom which is just a short walk away. There is a fresh water lake created by a man made sea barrier which can be walked and also provides water sports. The walkway is mostly flat but stony. Haverigg is also close to Hodbarrow which is an RSPB nature reserve. The area is not so good for a beach holiday as the water recedes miles at low tide and there are jelly fish and little water flies that bite. Millom hosts a Tesco and Haverigg has a Londis. A good place to eat is Betty's Beach Cafe that was able to cater for my Gluten Free partner. The public toilets near Betty's Beach Cafe were also reasonable.

The bar/restaurant onsite gets very busy, over 1 hour wait on food. The harbour in the village is lovely and has a more varied menu. Bettys is perfect for a breakfast, light lunch. Super dog friendly, my springer loved the puppy ice cream

Fantastic place to visit - off the beaten track for tourists but well worth a visit or a stay - theres something for everyone. Loads of places to stay and eat - Haverigg Chippy and Londis well worth a visit. Wonderful coastal views and walks, walks around the RSPB reserve that's surrounded by a lake and sea, only an hour away (driving) to Windermere and Ambleside - but set off really early to beat the mad rush to get best parking.

don't go. spend your money in a place that appreciate it unless you wish to listen to foul mouthed people in the harbour hotel and have to put up with the rude and arrogant people who live there that's if they are not smoking drugs on the beach. the nicest people we met were the people on holiday and two ladies one of which had moved there 5 years ago. i am sorry to say we didn't get the opportunity to speak to any nice people who live there and no doubt they do but from the moment we arrived we were spoken to like dirt and the mad paint lady who was going around painting the pavements with the words no parking should really be spoken to by the local council and or police.
