Darcy's Yard is located just off the town centre, so not so noisy. There are good eateries close by. The room itself was very comfortable and exceptionally furnished. The hosts were very friendly and we were greeted very well, despite having just walked 16 miles on a very hot day, so must have looked a fright!

Absolutely perfect place to stay. The house is a great base for exploring the East Yorkshire coast, especially the lovely town of Hornsea. The Whyte Retreat is a beautiful house in a quiet area. It's spotlessly clean, spacious, and has everything you could need for a fantastic holiday. This was our second stay here, and we would definitely return.

Lovely town great places to eat and drink, easy walking distance from town to beach. Nice and chilled, plenty of car parking places. Leisure centre at the hub on the seafront with swimming pool and everything else you would expect. Nice large park in town. Great museum in town with the largest collection of hornsea pottery in the world.

Loved Hornsea a good selection of shops cafes and lilys the fish and chip shop is an absolute must, Tesco is only a few minutes out of town so good if you want to stock up on those items if self catering, there is also a local coop in the town, butchers ,bakery’s, chemist there are no banks as such but they do have a banking hub. The sea front is only a 10 minute walk from the town easily accessible with a mobility scooter if walking is difficult, the residents of Hornsea made us very welcome and all friendly the town itself was spotless and tidy some lovley hanging baskets on show too..

Hornsea is a seaside town but without all the roller coasters etc which suited me well. The beaches are shingly but there is sand especially when the tide is out. You can walk along the promenade and there are areas just for people/families and also dog friendly areas. Plenty of places for the usual fish and chips and ice cream plus a beach side pub which also does food. Parking was fine and there is even a free area just past the boat club. I went to Hornsea Mere but not a lot to see/do there. I actually stayed in Mappleton which was lovely, although a very eroded coastline. If you want a quiet stay then Hornsea is a great location.

Hornsea is a typical old Victorial seaside town.

Hornsea is a typical old Victorial seaside town. Nice shopping streets area. Nice seafront and promenade without any of the the brash amusement arcades often found in simialr seaside towns. Apart from the beach, shops amd a large green park there is not much else. The old Hornsea Pottery site is now a Freeport and is lookig an bit shabby and run down - with half the units boarded up and the rest mainly outdoor clothing outlets. Good base for exploring wider afield - to Hull, Beverley, Bridlington, etc..

This was our first stay at Hornsea, having only visited previously for a day. Being an older couple we find it easy to walk the full length of the promenade which is relatively flat and there are ample benches to rest and look at the sea. Visitors appeared to be a quite diverse age group as there are many caravans and amusement which attract families.

The whole place was quiet.

The whole place was quiet. There were lots of birds and other wildlife. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful and the cleaners had done a good job on preparing the Lodge. It's a short distance from the place to all sorts of interesting places along the coast and in land.
