Llanbister is a small village but we enjoyed a male voice...

Llanbister is a small village but we enjoyed a male voice choir concert in the Community Hall on one evening. On other days we visited Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader, Elan Valley and the Winter Fair at the Royal Welsh Showground.

A quiet village on the main roads from Newtown to...

A quiet village on the main roads from Newtown to Llandrindod Wells. There are no facilities or visitor attractions in the village but the Lion Hotel is well located for walking and trips to mid-Wales attractrions.

This family run hotel was a great little find. I stayed there two nights for work, and it was a just perfect as a base t unwind at the end of the day of extensive travelling around the mid and north Wales countryside. The hosts made me feel extremely welcome, and I would not hesitate to stay there again if my work takes me to that area in future.

The hotel has such a warm welcoming cozy feel to it. The rooms are clean and cozy - we loved the little shampoos and shaving kit in the bathroom. In the morning the homemade cooked breakfast was lovely. Honestly cannot fault a thing, we absolutely loved it and for the price it was amazing. Will 100% be back - it’s a little hidden treasure.

The hotel provided tea, coffee, biscuits and all toiletries along with some additional extras. We could help ourselves to cereal and yoghurt and had a full english breakfast with toast and coffee. The hotel also serve evening meals at a reasonable cost.

Nice little pub/hotel with great views. Food in the evening was good and breakfast is okay. The bed was very comfortable and the shower although not very strong was at least a decent size! We enjoyed our short stop over.
