We were welcomed by Roger who checked us in after enjoying a well deserved drink at the bar/restaurant on the ground floor and were pleasantly surprised with the renovated apartment. Maryport is a small town with lots of things to do,we were there to fish off the pier,but there are lots of other things to do.An aquarium to go round,a great skate park to keep the kids occupied ,a lovely area for dog walking and above all a town steeped in history.Watch the fishing boats go out to sea,Lots of seaside cafes and fish and chips shops,as well as takeaways,One last thing,if you love large noisy seagulls then Maryports for you.😄

The aquarium is fantastic - easily spend an hour or two...
The aquarium is fantastic - easily spend an hour or two there. (They include mini golf, etc.) Harbour and beach lovely to walk round. Good dining choices including an award winning Indian restaurant. Also a Roman museum.

The fact that there was a constant queue outside Greggs sums...
The fact that there was a constant queue outside Greggs sums up the town. On the plus side there is no McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Costa and Starbucks. The two main supermarkets are a B&M and a Lidl. In summary it is a bit run down, but charming nonetheless. I stumbled across a Sunday market by the harbour, which was really good, with arts & crafts and artisan food offerings. In fact the whole harbour area was the best part of the town and had a museum or two and a sports centre. Also included an award winning Indian restaurant, which I would have loved to have tried if I had more time.

Went to pick up keys at reception told the keys are left in the van ,when I was going out tried to lock the door keys wouldn't work so back to reception but it was closed finally got a key that worked,the tabletop was very loose not safe, the sofas cushions were saggy, no tebook or chopping boad , master bed room mattress needing replaced, both toilet and shower room heated towel rails were leaking badly rusted shower floor very flimsy, no wifi on site itinerary stated there was wifi this was a big disappointment ,holiday over priced at £448-50p would not recommend this holiday.

A lovely harbour and town.
A lovely harbour and town. Lots of cafes and some independent shops. This town seems to be on the up and up. I loved the harbour cafe for the food and the views. Do visit the Aquarium, you will be surprised. Other attractions include the King Charles III English Coast path and Senhouse Roman museum - do take the guided tour. It is easy to get to Cockermouth and Keswick if you want a busier day with more shops and amenities. Don't forget to go up the coast to Allonby and Siloth then catch up with Hadrian's wall on the Solway with great views of Scotland. You will love this place if you want to get away from the crowds.

Maryport is a fantastic place to visit, plenty to do and see, friendly local people,great places to eat, full of history , Maryport Rescue is well worth a visit, the volunteers who run the service will give you a tour and tell you all about the history of the Maryport lifeboat rescue service

A fresh, modern house superbly located in the village to make the most of the famed sunsets overlooking the Solway and across to Scotland. Right on top of the beach and coastal path. The addition of the conservatory allows you to make the most of your stay all year round no matter what the weather. Great communication with the owners, fast and courteous replies. Looked to assist us at every opportunity. Credit to them!

I had a great stay in the static caravan in Maryport. It was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed – from kitchen essentials to a comfortable living space. The quality of the caravan was excellent, very well looked after and modern. A peaceful and convenient place to stay, and I would definitely book again.

Lovely quirky hotel with lot character and great view of the harbour. The young girl in reception seemed do everything, she was very helpful and very pleasant even though she was doing a bit of everything. Staff were great food great and had no complaints at all. would definitely stay again.
