Cafe culture has not appeared in great measure in the Town.
Cafe culture has not appeared in great measure in the Town....unlike here in the South.
The High Street looks shabby....it need some TLC. The buildings are all in place but it needs some more vitality
Our visit to Glen Esk was a great success. The Town is well positioned for neighbouring visits
We did not explore the Basin but clearly this is something of an USP for the Town , with an accent on Nature and the Environment
The docks looked interesting too...could they be made into more of a tourist destination?
Great visit to the Aifield where my late father taught pilots in WW11 and to a house in Union Place where my late great grandparents lived

Especially Montrose beach which holds lots of wonderful memories for both families.
We were fortunate to see lots of dolphins from Montrose Beach.
Lunan Bay & St. Silas beaches within easy reach.
Strawberry picking in nearby Charleton Farm & fun park.

Did not see much off Montrose, saw a few hotels and got a...
Did not see much off Montrose, saw a few hotels and got a talk on the future hopefully with the help of a grant from the Lottery. Eat at the Gearge Hotel on Friday night and breakfast at Links hotel and lunch at the Park Hotel all lovely.

You must visit The House of Dun,the tour guide Mr.Young is a wealth of knowledge.The history and beauty of the house is outstanding.Montrose museum is worth a visit.The fish and chips shop on the high street(Adams) is excellent,the fish was very fresh.The bus 7x along the coast road to Aberdeen was lovely.Montrose beach and the Pavillion cafe were brilliant!

The local people were very friendly and very helpful when we asking for directions. The coffee house was very nice, we went a couple of times, the food was great and home baking and atmosphere, A long time time ago the premises were once Stables. Theres also plenty of buses if you dont have a car.

We were located near the town and beach and also a lovely park which was lovely to walk around, the museum was 5 minutes away which we visited it was very informative, there are many different shops in town and supermarkets nearby, and a choice of cafes, takeaways etc which we used, there are many places of history, we will be going back again in the future. Montrose is free parking in the High street and it is very easy to get around montrose.

The whole place was clean and tidy and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Dinner was good, we ate in the restaurant twice.
Breakfast was good but more variety of fruits would have suited us better.
The room was spacious and well appointed with a welcome electric fan as the weather was very hot.
There is lots of parking in the hotel grounds.

Loved this little home from home. Cosy and clean, with everything you could possibly wish for on a weekend break. Our dog loved the garden to run around in too.
Montrose is a very friendly and welcoming town, with great places to eat and drink. We even had some sunshine 🌞
