Lovely quiet location on a rural lane with dairy cattle in the fields next to the house and magnificent country views on all sides- and yet only a few miles drive from the A30. Breakfast was fantastic: cereals, fruit, yoghurt, hot croissants and toast with plenty of jam/marmalade, butter, fresh milk and tea/coffee.

North Tawton is an interesting town with an attractive...

North Tawton is an interesting town with an attractive church and town square with its clock tower. There are some small shops and essentials such as a chemist and Spar shop. Graylings Fish and Chip shop is to be highly recommended (found both in North Tawton and Okehampton). Other great places to eat are The Duke of York in Iddesleigh and The Tom Cobbley in Spreyton. There are lots of lovely walks from the town, but it’s also only a short drive to Dartmoor. Big supermarkets are in Okehampton, which is about 7 miles away. Some of the roads in the town and in the surrounding area are narrow, so be prepared to reverse. Other than that though, it’s a great place to stay!
