In order according to the headings for the ratings.... Staff.... extremely friendly and welcoming. Warm and inviting, making jokes and reassuring us about queries we had made. For anyone that has never visited the Islands....people are friendly just accept it. Facilities.... We have literally nothing to complain about. I was going mad trying to figure out what the fragrance was in the foyer to the Ardbeg room and I discovered it before checking out. Sandalwood and leather. Clean.... impressively clean. Shower and bath for whatever you feel like. Comfortable....so comfortable we slept in each morning. We had every Intention of getting up early but couldn't. Value....some may dither about the price but I was here to celebrate my dad's 70th father and son style. You cannot put a price on those memories in such a location. Suffice to say I was happy to pay the price I paid. I will pay that again. Well worth it. Location....what can I say that's bad about Islay. Midges. That's my only observation. Thank you Lochindaal see you again sometime.

It’s way more than B&B. Jim and Caroline’s hospitality makes you feel you’re a guest of a super nice Islay family. You get to learn more about Islay culture and lifestyle while having your freshly cooked breakfast. Thanks to them, our trip was much more memorable. We’d stay there again next time.

Port Charlotte is a picturesque small village , be advised there is only one small village shop that I was aware of, with two petrol pumps outside (not working on the day I went for fuel) We stayed at the excellent Port Charlotte Hotel , which I highly recommend both for staying and dining. There is another restaurant in the village, but we didn't eat there ,so can't comment. Always book a table on Islay to avoid disappointment.

Port Charlotte is small, pretty, has 2 hotels each with a bar and restaurant- both serving good food. There is a small shop that sells a bit of everything including petrol. The coast line is really pretty at Port Charlotte, but also everything is fairly close by car.

There is a short but pleasant walk of just over half a mile to the little lighthouse on the coast north of the town. The local museum is small but well worth a visit. The locals are friendly and helpful. It's a good jumping off point for visiting sites like Finlaggan Trust and the Cultoon Stone Circle and places like Portnahaven (we saw seals cavorting there). The food at the Port Charlotte Hotel is splendid.

Great little village with the friendliest people throughout.

Great little village with the friendliest people throughout. 3 very good restaurants within walking distance. Bus runs from here to Portnahaven in the South and to the main other towns (Bowmore/Port Ellen) though ends at 6pm. For food, drink and friendly chats recommend The Port Charlotte Hotel, also the live music Sunday & Wednesday. Lochindaal Seafood Kitchen excellent seafood from a short menu. Worth a walk to Port Mor Community Cafe for breakfast.

The staff were outstanding, so friendly and nothing seemed to be an issue for them. Rarely have I ever stayed somewhere that compares with the genuine warmth and kindness. My bedroom was a little disappointing as it was very small and would have been near impossible if I was sharing. It needs an upgrade, as does the bathroom which was a bit below standard. The food and bar were excellent and can't really be faulted. If the bedrooms do get an upgrade, then this will be difficult to beat.
