A beautiful property, well maintained and well managed . Excellent breakfast freshly prepared to exact order. A good bar that stays open late. No other food on premises but that's not a problem as we ordered in and they were kind enough to bring it up We were given a choice of rooms and we picked a sea facing one . Gorgeous views. Toiletries were good quality and the room luxurious in look. Parking is ample . Will highly recommend

Portscatho is a quiet seaside village with (thankfully) little night life apart from the excellent pub. There is a small beach by the harbour and a long sandy beach only a few hundred metres away adjacent to which is an informal restaurant the quality of whose lunches belies its rustic appearance. Other eating places are the pub (booking essential for dinner) and another café/restaurant. A few miles down the road near Pendower beach is an excellent farm shop which stocks a variety of fresh produce as well as fish, crabs, scallops etc. landed by their own boats. Portscatho is well served by buses to St Mawes and Truro. The small village shop stocks a surprising range of food and other goods and a recent addition is an ice cream shop which sells gelato made on the premises. The local social club entertains visitors (for a small daily fee) where they show televised sporting events on large screens. Please don't go there and crowd out us regulars.

We just loved all of it.

We just loved all of it. The shops the pub had great food and very friendly the Boat House was excellent. The walks excellent. Parking waS fine, too. We are in our 70s so the steep hill to the beach could be challenging but it worked up a nice appetite at the boat house. Sunday lunch there was excellent. We will be back !

We visit Portscatho most years, usually staying in a nearby caravan site. It is very well situated on the coastal path and has all the local facilities one might want in a small village. A bus service puts St Mawes and Truro within easy reach.

The Rosevine is essentially a country house residence that has been adapted as a hotel that gives the large rooms with self catering facilities. However there is an integral restaurant that provides excellent breakfast and dinners with an adjoining area to eat if you have your dog with you - as we did.

Location is lovely and very close to the sea. Our room was spacious - we could relax and work there. We ate twice in the restaurant in the evenings, and the food was very high quality, and great service from a staff member pulled from another hotel in the chain.
