Interesting market town with a variety of areas to explore, by the river Test, in the Memorial park, the abbey and town centre. We also were able to have an hour's tour of nearby Broadlands which is only available for a short time every year.

Interesting town to walk around with a lot of history, old buildings and individual shops. We found a very good pub (The Three Tuns) with an excellent menu serving beautiful home-cooked food rather than the usual samey menu found at most other pubs.

Had an interesting look around the Abbey, and great, if slightly muddy, walk around Fishlake Meadows. Fab curry in the Natraj restaurant in the centre, general mooch about the shops, Bradbeers is a hidden gen hiding in plain sight and good range of charity shops, and a visit to Hilliers Arboretum. Romsey Signal Box is also great for a quick interesting tour - but check opening times!! Enjoy Romsey - we did!, and we onlyscratched th surface, there's loads of history here!!

The hotel is situated right in the heart of the ancient town. In fact you can hear the clock chiming at the nearby Abbey. Everything is close to hand. There are a number of cafes around the Market place. Apart from the Abbey there is a beautiful park down by the meandering River Test. Apart from the bustling centre Romsey has a laid back feel to it. Very relaxing.

Romsey is a fine provincial town.

Romsey is a fine provincial town. Great atmosphere and clearly enjoyed by the locals. Beautiful town architecture topped by the outstanding abbey. Volunteer staff in the church were friendly and knowledgeable. Walks around the town and along the various rivers very picturesque.

Romsey is a lovely village with Waitrose and Aldi.

Romsey is a lovely village with Waitrose and Aldi. Plenty of coffee shops. However as we live in Spain we were shocked at the prices. For the price of two coffees and pastries we can buy a 3 course meal. I would recommend visiting Lyndhurst and Winchester.

Good breakfast. Thoughtful and warm host. Very welcoming. Very quiet spot. About a 3/4 mile to town centre which we were able to walk as way signposted for pedestrians. Near canal walk and Test river valley walk. Spotlessly clean and attention to detail. We had free access to beautiful sitting room and table seating outside in garden. Car parking on the drive. We were visiting family in the area and would definitely stay there again.

Bee Cottage is in a quiet area with a pretty little river a few steps away. Inside it is very spacious yet cosy and spotlessly clean. We are a family of 5 and everything we needed was there. The downstairs shower room was an extra bonus for us. The town centre is within walking distance with a good variety of shops. There is also a lovely park very close which we visited a few times.

The staff are truly excellent at The White Horse Hotel. Jazz, Harley, Anastassia, Rosie, Amber plus all the others went out of their way to be helpful. Food in the restaurant was fresh and of very good quality. Live music on Friday evening outside the dining room was great.

It's was peaceful, the host showed us around, despite living in the main house she gave us complete privacy. The barn is central to some nice locations for days out. Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth and the New forest to name a few.
