It was close to Durham and had a restaurant we didn’t try but the food looked good and was busy which is always a good sign , our room was lovely was well stocked with tea coffee milk ect

Location fab, very friendly, comfortable rooms....just a touch warm through the night but wouldn't put me off. Considering above a pub had a good sleep ...wasn't noisy. Allowed to leave our cases which was a great help as train wasn't until afternoon, fab location near everything, great little pub too with a great offer of a card stamp , buy 3 pints get next one free 👍 would defo stay again....five stars 😁 also had everything you needed in the room....the little bowl of sweets on the dresser is a cute touch too ...had an upstairs sun terrace , partly covered with tv showing the rugby 👍 great place to stay ...really enjoyed it. There’s no way to describe how fabulous it is to stay at a Grade 1 UNESCO World Heritage site. The staff are lovely and the experience was top notch.

How friendly the reception was by the male manager/publican.

Loved the decor and spaciousness of the room, as well as the house itself. Jade is a welcoming,, friendly presence, and the breakfast was great. Lots of yummy food choices. The location is great, on the hill above the main street, and a short walk to the shops, cathedral and castle.

The staff (Claire) was absolutely wonderful and the location cannot be beat.

Great location, excellent gym and pool.

Really comfortable room with a nice bathroom and huge, comfortable bed. We appreciated blackout curtains as the sun was rising super early. Staff were obliging and it's in a convenient location just a short walk to town.

Indulge in the fairytale dreams of your interchild! This Castle is rich with history and beauty. The breakfast was perfection. Walking the grounds , stunning. I hope to return next year.

Very attentive welcoming helpful staff all around. The food was delicious. The pub / restaurant was so warm and welcoming after a long days work.

Brilliant hotel, great value for money, better than many hotels with much more inflated prices. Staff friendly, down to earth and helpful. Sharon especially gets a mention. Room high quality, great WiFi, very quiet despite being close to busy road. Easy access from A1. Ideal location for visiting both Durham and Newcastle.

The accommodation was s total waste if money, fir the price we paid we would expect at least a clean toilet, clean floor, empty waste bins and totally dust free bedside tables😢

The place is amazing. Clean and right next to costa coffeee fuel pump and mcDonalds.

Breakfast was delicious and served at chosen time. Very well prepared owner very friendly.

We stayed dinner at bed and breakfast. The selection of food at both mails was of a high-quality and excellent choice. Exceeded our expectations and most definitely value for money.

Comfy bed, warm room and clean. Food was lovely. Went above and beyond to provide plant based options for teatime meal and breakfast.
