We have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world, the only thing that stops The Farmhouse being 5 star is there is no lift, however this is not a problem as the staff happily take luggage to and from your room on request. There is absolutely nothing not like, fabulous rooms (the suites are worth the little extra) but it’s the staff that make this hotel so special. Nothing is too much trouble, professional, smart, efficient always with a smile every single member of staff that we met. The housekeeping team need to be praised everything spotless every day. We stayed at this hotel for 18 nights so had a lot of time to find faults, there were none. And it’s worth mentioning the breakfasts are amazing, a great choice perfectly cooked. The cost of the rooms is equivalent to to a 3 star hotels around so extremely good value. To reiterate it’s the staff that made our stay so special, whenever in Guernsey this would always be our choice of hotel.

St Martin has a couple of pubs / restaurants and a few shops for essentials but is not, in itself, a location where you would find much to do. It is ideal as a base for walking or for touring the island if you have a car or bike. St Peter Port, nearby, is a busy town.

St Martins Village is the perfect place to stay.

St Martins Village is the perfect place to stay. It features a myriad of beautiful and quiet country lanes for walking. De Sausmarez Manor and the beautiful Fermain Bay are both well worth visiting. St Martins also provides easy access to St Peter Port with its quaint town, magnificent harbour and Castle Cornet which are no more than 30 minutes walk, or a short bus ride. It also provides easy access to and from the airport.

Whilst slightly further from St Peter Port than I've stayed previously, I wouldn't hesitate to do so again - especially given the savings. It's a pleasant walk into town from here on the straightest route, though very much downhill - so watch your shins if you're not used to it. I'd recommend taking the longer route through the Bluebell Wood and along the cliff path at least once. The return journey back uphill is a bit more taxing and, whilst fit, I'd not be ashamed of taking the bus back - especially after a good meal in town. The buses run frequently both ways and take next to no time getting to town. Guernsey being Guernsey, road closures and bus route suspensions do happen occasionally; but it's not a long walk from the 61 stop on the other side of Les Hubits if Fort Road is closed or the 93 or 95 are off. And cabs aren't too bad if push comes to shove.

St Martin is quiet and centrally located on the island.

St Martin is quiet and centrally located on the island. St Peter Port is easily reached by bus or car. It has several supermarkets nearby and easy access to some beautiful beaches. Fermain Bay is located in the area - a secluded beach area with its own Beach Café and some picturesque walks.

Good location for visiting the Island.

Good location for visiting the Island. Able to walk to Fermain Bay from here and then round the Bay to St Peter Port. A few handy shops too and a Methodist Church. Fermain Bay hotel is a great location for eating or just having coffee if you can’t make it down the hill to the Fermain Bay cafe.

There were many things to see and do from museums, a castle, great food and spectacular roads. Fresh seafood was amazing. Found a great little gin distillery too. The roads are scary, very narrow and lots of road works. Don't drive there if you are not happy reversing. We struggled to get to some places due to the roadworks everywhere.

Exceptional Stay. Regrettably we were given a smaller bed on arrival (a double but we asked through communication with hotel to upgrade) however this was very quickly sorted on arrival and we were given a very lovely room with king-size. Staff were ALL incredibly accommodating and couldn't do enough. Food was excellent. Dinner was so good we cancelled an alternative booking, to eat elsewhere the second night, to eat at hotel again. Just outstanding food. Breakfast was also 5*. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Location was great! I would recommend this area more than St. peter's port. it is very beautiful. a 15 mins walk down to the water from the hotel. The hotel was very well run by a very friendly staff. And so clean and impeccable. Breakfast is a full English and a small selection of yogurt on the side. I think the whole hotel is very peaceful. Surprisingly cooling in the room despite the summer heat.
