Staithes is an absolutely delightful fishing village.

Staithes is an absolutely delightful fishing village. It is quite difficult to get to by car as cars are not allowed to park in the village so you have to park at the top of a very steep hill. I had my elderly mother with me so had to drop her off down at the harbour, drive up the hill to park and then walk back down to the harbour. On leaving I had to do the reverse. Walk up the very steep hill, drive to the harbour to collect my mum and then drive back up the hill. Whilst this caused some inconvenience I absolutely loved Staithes. It is unspoilt in my opinion. The only pub in the village The Cod and Lobster serves food until 8pm. It is rather pricey but the food was lovey. I would not hesitate to stay in Staithes again. It was roughly a 20 minute drive to Whitby.

Lovely little village with interesting history and amazing...

Lovely little village with interesting history and amazing views. Do check out the local museum and harbour. Winding cobbled road past all the shops in the village centre or path up through the old houses on a cliff path. Take your camera you can see right across the top of the village and definitely a photo opportunity.

Staithes has alot to offer and has a lovely harbour and access to walking via the Cleverland way.Two pubs ( The Royal George and The Cod and Lobster) both are really friendly with great food.Staithes has some quirky shops and Dotty's tearoom is a must, with great cocktails and entertainment on some Saturday evenings.The museum is worth a visit and be sure to watch the 20 minute documentary on the history of the village, by one of the locals.There are lots of local attractions ( Runswick bay, Whitby, Robin Hood bay, Thornton le dale )

Peaceful and pretty.

Peaceful and pretty. Quiet but with a couple of good pubs serving food, coffee ships and a few interesting little shops. The museum was interesting too. Easy and punctual bus routes to Whitby and Saltburn by the Sea, if you don’t have a car, for other days out. Very steep walk up to get to the bus stops though!

Quite a busy little place, but also quiet.

Quite a busy little place, but also quiet. The locals were all very friendly and it seemed to us to have a very strong sense of community. Ideally placed for Runswick Bay, Saltburn on the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors and railway inland.

We had a fantastic stay at Luna cottage, only wish we could have stayed longer! The location right in the heart of Staithes is amazing, a minute walk to the beach, two pubs, a deli, cafe, museum and gallery. The cottage is comfy, warm, bright, spacious and well equipped with everything you might need to make it a home away from home. Particularly enjoyed the bath and the huge bed. Thank you!

Lovely traditional cosy cottage in a quiet location up a lane in the lovely old part of Staithes. Very close to the beach / harbour and a short stroll to the 2 pubs. The cottage had everything you would need. There is a small supermarket at the top of the village about 20 mins walk or a 5 minute drive. The cottage is on the Cleveland Way route so great for walks along the coast.

Everything was perfect. Lovely spacious accommodation with everything you needed to hand. Great hosts - easy to contact them and they kindly sent back clothing we left behind. Great location in the heart if Staithes. Well thought out and managed property. Lovely surrounding area. II would highly recommend.
