Very dog friendly but also retains the cleanliness and luxury. Fun for the whole family. There is good gym facilities and fitness classes. The pool, steam room, hot tub and sauna was great! Food was delicious too at the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing. Plus the food for our dog was a lovely touch! No faults at all. Hotel room was so clean as well. The added wellies and dog bowls were a great addition.

This is a charming Inn in a great location across from the Tewkesbury Abbey. It has exceptional character, cozy, relaxing dining rooms and bar. The weather was great during our visit and we loved taking our lunch, dinner and drinks in the outside sitting area. Menu was very good and the staff were the best. Very friendly and responsive to every request.

We enjoyed visiting Tewkesbury Abbey although we didn’t go inside due to there being a service taking place. It really is a magnificent building. We had a meal in the local Wetherspoons which was very nice.

Tewkesbury is a really friendly place to visit with lots of pubs, restaurants, shops and is steeped in history. The many half timbered houses have stories of their own to tell, and a visit to the Black Bear Inn is a must to feel the atmosphere of times gone by. The jewel in its crown is the magnificent Abbey which is an amazing place to visit, especially if you have an interest in architecture, and want to visit a key place of the Plantagenet era and the Wars of the Roses. The surrounding areas have many walking trails, and you can visit the Bloody Meadow where the Battle of Tewkesbury was fought. King John also had his hunting grounds here, the scenery is stunning.

Great location for exploring the cotswolds.

Great location for exploring the cotswolds. Close enough for driving to them each day, we made itineraries each day to explore several towns / villages that we had selected to see that day and it made everything easier. Morrisons and Aldi are both approx 10-15 mins away from the property making it perfect for catering for yourselves.

Full of history and many nice people but there is a small thuggish element. It has however the best Italian restaurant we have every come across and that is Caffe e Vino on Church street. This is a truly wonderful authentic Italian restaurant with wonderful food cocktails and amazing service.

Absolutely loved Tewkesbury.

Absolutely loved Tewkesbury. Beautiful buildings and the Cathedral was stunning. Ate at Salernos, an Italian, the meal was excellent. Huge choice of pubs to drink at. A great place for history lovers with all the little alleys and historic buildings. Near the Malvern Hills which gave a stunning view over the countryside, a 20 minute easy walk from the top car park.

Interesting history, with walks and guided trails to help make the most of them from the Tourist Office. A range of decent pubs and restaurants, some of the better ones even open on a Sunday and Monday evening while we were there - we particularly enjoyed Salerno. The old town is quite small, so easy to walk around, but parking can be tricky at weekends and over festivals when the town gets quite busy. Get there early in the day or after the shops shut!

The hotel was spotlessly clean and quiet. (You can hear the Abbey bells with window open) Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasted lovely. Hotel is in an ideal spot to visit Tewkesbury and Abbey. Local pubs and restaurants nearby.
