The location is beautiful and very convenient for the Whitworth Institute. I loved my cozy room, the comfy bed, the lovely, clean bathroom with the fantastic shower, the thoughtful coffee and tea amenities, the witty proprietor, Alan and his courteous, talented and considerate staff, the tasteful decor and the wonderful welcome. I'm so pleased I chose the Square and Compass and I'm greatly looking forward to my next stay. Very highly recommended!

It's a great place to explore the area - half way between Matlock and Chatsworth, with Bakewell just up the road - and a short drive to enjoy stunning scenery. There's a good fish & chip shop nearby as well as a good Indian restaurant that does deliveries.

Excellent location to combine some fishing and walking with...

Excellent location to combine some fishing and walking with dogs in the Peak District, very close to Chatsworth, Matlock, Bakewell. Tasha was a wonderful hostess that was always readily available if you had any questions. We would thoroughly recommend Two Dales.
