All the staff were really lovely and I can’t speak highly enough about them! Overall the room was nice and clean. Location wise I thought this place was perfect. About 20 mins by car to Mam Tor / Winnats Pass & Castleton and about 25 mins the other way to Bakewell. In terms of Buxton town centre, it’s literally just round the corner for all the main shops, eateries & the Buxton Crescent Spa too (about 5 mins walk).

Samantha & Stephanie were wonderful host. Stephanie checked me in and I appreciate her help with booking an extra night with Old Manse. Samantha cooked a really good breakfast each morning. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi & apple) & plain yogurt. She also cooked great poached eggs & cereal was appreciated. One morning I had salmon & eggs and it was yummy. I failed to mention she had nuts & dried fruit to put on the yogurt…..lots of good choices. My room & bathroom were a good size and the bed very comfortable. I enjoyed my walks from the B&B to the town centre (exploring) & taking the bus to Bakewell and Haddon Hall were fun for a day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The Buxton Crescent Experience is a must.

The Buxton Crescent Experience is a must. The exhibitions, interactive displays and information were amazing, as were the guides. The tour enabled us to view the Ballroom, etc in the Crescent Hotel, which was a bonus. We were in Buxton for the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival and enjoyed two performances in the Buxton Opera House, another gem. We enjoyed meals at Ithica in the centre of Buxton and the OLive Tree at the top of the hill.

We appsolately love buxton.

We appsolately love buxton. With some nice shops and coffee shops. There is some nice restaurants has well. To go out for an evening meal. All not far from the The Cresent Hotel. Our favourite restaurants were The simply Thai restaurant and The St moritz Italian restaurant. They are both next door to each other. With a short walk to the theatre.

I have always liked Buxton.

I have always liked Buxton. I love the town centre with its variety of shops and I love the Pavilion Gardens, which are always so beautifully kept. There was a display of veteran cars whilst I was there, and also an auction of cars. Another favourite place of mine is Scriveners Bookshop, where I always find secondhand literary treasure! There are plenty of places to eat - I sampled as many as possible, and enjoyed them all! Buxton people are warm and friendly - I enjoyed a few lovely chats with perfect strangers.

Being in the Peak District, Buxton is a perfect place if you want a centre for hiking or camping. We go there for the International Festival, and really reccommend that if you're a music lover. A nice little town, with lovely architecture and both boutiques and national chains (eg Cafe Nero, White Stuff and so on). It's quite a small town, so nothing is difficult to get to. Best for lunches or morning coffee - Number 6 The Square, but book well in advance if you're there during Festival week. The bar at the Crescent Hotel also do nice lunches. Simply Thai is a good place for evening meal, and so is Santiago.

We booked to stay at The Vault and we was not disappointed. This is located 5 minutes walk away from Buxton town centre. Plenty of shops and restaurants close to this hotel. A local taxi rank is a short walk away and bus links are available. Lovely atmosphere from arrival and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The cozy room was clean and comfortable, very snug. The bathroom was very modern with an oral-b toothbrush charger built into the wall (which was very handy!).

We always try to stay at the Westminster Hotel when we visit Buxton. It's in a really great location overlooking the Pavilion gardens and just a short distance from all Buxton's amenities. The staff are wonderful and make you feel very welcome. The breakfasts are great and truely set you up for the day! And if this isn't enough for all you travellers there is on site free parking!

Comfortable hotel in an excellent central location in Buxton. The room was spotlessly clean and all facilities worked perfectly. The food served at dinner and breakfast was excellent and extremely good value for money. At night there was absolutely no noise from inside or outside the hotel.
