We only stayed for one night, but the staff made every effort to make everything lovely. The place is perhaps a little dated for some, however , this is vastly outweighed by this immaculate hotel. The value for money is unbelievable. My partner is vegan and they provided soya milk for the room and a decent vegan breakfast.

The apartment is located right on the promenade and offers a fantastic view across the water to the other side of the city. It was very clean and furnished to a high standard; some of the lights are even controlled by motion sensors, which means you shouldn’t stand still for too long—even in the bathroom :) The bed was very comfortable. There are places to have breakfast in the immediate vicinity; the room itself has a coffee maker and a tea kettle, but it’s not set up for self-catering. Besides my two points of "criticism" I would book it again - you just have to know and decide for yourself it these are okay for you.

I love Whitby and have been many times.

I love Whitby and have been many times. My husband and I spent our honey moon in Whitby ten years ago and try to revisit every year. Everything you need is in walking distance with plenty of stop off benches when you need a rest. Always a lovely visit. Plenty of eating places pubs and bars. I love watching the folk crabbing. I ate breakfast at the whistle stop cafe near to the train station and at the restaurant of my hotel which was Bagdale Hall also near the train station. Even got a beautiful sunny day gratis.

Great place to visit with its own character.

Great place to visit with its own character. Wonderful shops. Great food. We loved the Greedy Pig and The Fishermans Wife. Hunting for Whitby Jet on the beach was fun. Watching dolphins from the quay was a highlight. We went in July and it was busy in the day and a bit noisy in the evenings, but we would go again in a heartbeat.

Went to enjoy some of the local walks. The local transport was excellent, both busses and trains. Whitby itself was delightful. Enjoyed exploring the town. West bay beach was clean and found the easiest way to get there was taking the path through the pavilion car park. We had the best Sunday lunch at The Vault, worst fish and chip takeaway from Magpies (over cooked fish). There are a lot of steep hills and steps in Whitby that maybe challenging to some people. Lots of seating around. Loved the local walks.

I love Whitby. It's got everything for every age.

I love Whitby. It's got everything for every age. There are bars, shops, pubs, arcades, boat trips, bus ride, history, food, places to exercise, views, beaches, train trips, woodland to explore, long or short walks. It's obviously a tourist destination, but it's great fun and you can avoid the crowds if you want. We go almost every year and always find interesting things to do and see. The museum has enough to spend 3 or 4 days and the fee to enter lasts 1 year. It's a fantastic place for history from dinosaurs to 20th century. Go to the Thai restaurant or the Passage to India for great food. There is no end of award winning fish and chip take-ways/ cafes/ restaurants. Lots of sweet shops and gift shops. There are at least 3 ghost walks to go on. I recommend Dr Cranks. He's been doing it for over 20 years. The church stairs are famous and the walk it a great way to get ready for a picnic on a bench looking at the town from above. Try to find the pirate graves or Humpty Dumpty or Tom Thumb graves. The Abbey is spectacular. Try to find a day when there is an event on - like actors telling the Dracula story or when it's lit up at night. There are short or long boat trips either inside the harbour to out to sea.

We liked the tour bus, the Abbey, the cobbled streets on the same side of the river as the Abbey. The fact that there were 2 haberdashery/ fabric shops! (Dreams of Dances & Boyes). Lovely tea rooms and fish teas. Scones at Marie Antoinette were delicious with clotted cream & jam. The Guinness and Bramble cocktails at Harry’s bar were perfect and serves by lovely friendly staff.

Just perfect, the whole staff team made our visit. Everybody was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Special mention to Karl who was excellent in the bar. Excellent location for travelling between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay with the bus stop opposite of the hotel. Had a lovely.meal in the hotel bar on our second night....food was lovely and great value for money. Breakfast was great, with a mix of continental and cooked breakfast options. A very enjoyable stay, we wouldn't hesitate to re book.

Nice clean room with sea views. Binoculars were a nice touch. Perfect for couples. Perfect for Goth weekend which was the reason for our stay. Parking was easy with scratchcard. I forgot to bring my parking disc but hotel parking scratch card exempt you from the 3 hour stay and allows 48 hours. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Shower was amazing, bathroom very clean. Lots of space. Conveniently located. Better and more spacious than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in.

What a fab find. Tucked away amongst a forest, this little cottage was a dream. Great amenities and only a short 10 min walk to the beach, bus stop, and easy reach to Sandsend and Whitby. Part of a larger estate with hotel / spa, there looked to be several cottages to choose from. Rooms were clean and fresh, great WiFi, and information about the facilities and local area. We will deffo be back.
