Lovely hotel in a lovely village. We had an early leave in the morning and the host was able to prepare me and my partner breakfast 1 AND A HALF HOURS BEFORE BREAKFAST OPENS! Any one that has anything remotely negative to say about this place is a moron! Couldn’t recommend enough!

We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didn’t expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.

We had a wonderful cosy and comfortable stay, exactly what we needed. We absolutely loved the scenery and fantastic walking trails all around. The peaceful quiet village setting was perfect for our relaxing escape. The new owners who recently took over the business were friendly and gave such a warm welcome. All the basic amenities we required were provided . While food options were limited , Bakewell is only 11 mins drive away, which is a very vibrant place with plenty of choices Its a lovely spot for a quiet escape in the heart of Peak District. We wish the new owners all the very best. We would happily stay here again!

Youlgreave has much to offer.

Youlgreave has much to offer. It's a larger than average village with lots going on. If you don't want to travel far when in the Peak District you can get a lot of what you want right in the village. Great delis, cafes, pubs and walks, and even a river you can swim in. The Ginger Nut does a great breakfast and coffee, and if you fancy something a bit different visit the huge Thornbridge Pizza and Taproom just outside Bakewell.

Great local shops and pubs.

Great local shops and pubs. Very friendly and helpful residents. There are lots of stunning walks directly from the village. There is a bus to Bakewell and also to Matlock. It can also be used to visit Haddon Hall. If you are brave the river Bradford is damed at one point to form a swimming area.

Youlgreave is a very picturesque village with many higgeldy piggeldy stone houses. There are 3 pubs which all seem to have great reviews. There is a well stocked village shop, a post office and a cafe. It is well situated for visiting the Derbyshire dales and Chatsworth. Our cottage was just a few steps away from the bridge over the river with nice walks along the river.
