Lovely restaurants and beach bars.

Lovely restaurants and beach bars. A great butchers with quality meat for a BBQ. The beach is beautiful with shallow clear water, lots of sunbeds outside bars and cafe's. The people who live and work there are so friendly and welcoming. Taxi ride to the beautiful Chania for €18 Would absolutely love to go back!

Stalos is a good holiday destination with the potential to...

Stalos is a good holiday destination with the potential to visit Western Crete and Chania Town itself as well as to enjoy the beach. It is less busy than nearby Platanias and Aghia Marina, however there are some decent authentic Greek restaurants in the area.

Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite . The beach is clean and easily accessible .

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented...

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented scooter. We reached property in the evening and visited harbor and lighthouse. Had a stroll through the street and had dinner. Next day (day 2) we went to visit monastery and seitan lamnia. It was a great day with a good ride and trekking. Highly recommendable to young people who like to face fear of heights and enjoy trekking. The beach was awesome. Came back, freshed up, enjoyed sunset in the nearby beach of Melina's House, had dinner from Indian Restaurant and came back. On day 3, we went to Starlos (turquoise beach), had a swim and came back by 11am, checked out by 12pm.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants. We used the local supermarkets and shops so didnt need to travel for provisions. There is a good bus service to local beaches and shops if needed. After investigating nearby beaches we took a taxi to Iguana Beach regularly as there were sunbeds and a little cafe close by. We had a 9 year old with us so it was important to be on a safe beach with shallow waters. There are also lifeguards on the beach.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay. Glorious sunsets. Local shops don’t stock much food at all - we got the impression the hotels ‘discourage’ it, which is not good for local tradespeople. Local economies are part of real sustainability so this is important.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean, the bed was great. The view from the balcony was beautiful. It's pretty close to Chania by car and a good location to explore the west of Crete from. Good breakfast with great variety. I tried the Greek and Asian restaurants and they were very good. The gym was spacious and pretty well equipped, the only thing missing was a rack for the barbell (but you have a smith machine so you can manage) Overall a very good experience.

Beautiful apartment and pool just across the road from the sandy beach in Stalos. Comfortable bed, nice bed linen and great shower! Really appreciated the lovely welcome from Antonis and Irini and how well we were looked after! Recommend booking breakfast. Short drive or easy 10 min bus trip to the centre of Chania. Hope to return soon!

This hotel exceeded our expectations! The room was modern and renovated, beautiful furniture. The bar/restaurant (where breakfast is served) is near the beach, it has wonderful view. The beach is just meters away from the hotel. Everything is very clean and beautiful. The personnel is friendly. We didn’t want to leave!

Fantastic view, nice pool with as striking a view, superb care package from the host at arrival and a lot of space to enjoy. Perfect for striking sunset landscapes and a great starting position to explore West Crete. Quite and with friendly cats! Well equipped kitchen and a lot of books, DVDs, and even PS2 games.
