I’ve family from Buncrana so I’m biased but it’s a great...

I’ve family from Buncrana so I’m biased but it’s a great place in itself, let alone as a base for all the wonderful scenery and things to do nearby. We ticked off some of the Wild Atlantic Way signs including Malin Head (most northern point), and took the kids to walk the Alpaca’s, which was great fun. Just be mindful that places to eat don’t tend to take orders after 9pm, by 9:30 kitchens were already closed.

Nice town, friendly people, some great traditional town...

Nice town, friendly people, some great traditional town centre pubs, although some of which don't sell food, Swan park and the river walk are beautiful and interesting, even in the rain, nice coastal footpath heading north out of town, with small and quiet sandy coves.

Next time we go to Buncrana we shall enjoy going on the ferry. We will enjoy looking inside the large household store on the main street and we shall try to time it so that we can enjoy some of the many musical festivals

Buncrana is on the western side of the inishowen peninsula...

Buncrana is on the western side of the inishowen peninsula on the banks of Lough Swilly. It is a small town that has all the amenities that you’d need for a self catering holiday but is also so near beautiful beaches and interesting sites - the Ring fort, Grianan of Aileach was near enough to visit with the children after tea - amazing 360 degree views and a great place for a careful climb! 5 finger strand was our favourite beautiful beach but really we were spoilt for choice with several with white silk sands within 30 mins of our accommodation

Nice neat tidy town. Good selection of shops. Swan Park is a brilliant place to visit- all free. Walks by the Lough very enjoyable & easy to park. Bus service to Derry. Ferry across the lough if needed.

We stayed here and then went to the Giant's Causeway and the Dunluce Castle and viewing platforms nearby. Fantastic views! Tip: Pay to park at the Causeway Hotel and get a voucher for lunch, then take the shuttle for $1 each way to the Giant's Causeway.

We had a flying visit to Buncrana to catch the All-Ireland Final atmosphere in town. Garry & Marie were very kind as to let us check in early to get to town in plenty of time for throw in. The pubs and restaurants of Buncrana are walking distance from accommodation and although we didn’t spend too much time in the accommodation this time it had every facility you might need! Nice touch with the Netflix and Disney+. Garry was friendly and efficient at showing us around the property and we would definitely stay again for longer!

I received such a warm welcome from Marie when I arrived. Her hospitality was second to none. My bedroom was lovely, immaculately clean with crisp white sheets and I had such a good nights sleep. The view from my bedroom window over Buncrana was just stunning. The full Irish breakfast in the morning was delicious. Tea making facilities in the room which was welcome when I arrived after a long drive.

Exceeded our expectations in every way! Huge spacious family room, very comfortable beds with soft duvets and a variety of pillows. Excellent friendly and welcoming customer service. Great varied menu in the restaurant and nice atmosphere in bar/restaurant. Highly recommend! Walking distance to beach!
