Seamus is a wonderful host with so many interesting stories to tell. My husband and I truly enjoyed the warm welcome, the comfortable bed in a very clean room with ensuite bathroom, and the nice freshly cooked breakfast, with the best coffee I've had in Ireland. We had the chance to learn more about the Irish language, culture, and history, and because of this, we leave Ireland enriched. We would stay at Chez Sè again, when we'll visit this area again in the future. It is well located for Newgrange and other historical sites, as well as the coastal area, and is on the train line to both Dublin and Belfast.

It's not the prettiest of towns but there are interesting sites and the surrounding area is fantastic a car is a must to visit all the marvellous sites. We went to the Hill of Slane for example and Mottisfont Abbey and the views are amazing. Brun na Boigne Unesco Neolithic heritage site is only minutes away by car from the town and is well worth a visit you can enter one of the chambers and it is a fantastic experience to see the size of the burial mounds and if you are an English Heritage member it's free but you have to book ahead.

Drogheda is a small town about an hour's travel North of Dublin. Our main reason was to visit our son, who had moved to Drogheda to see that he had settled in. He gave us a tour around the town which wasn't anything special as far as being a tourist is, but that was not our intention or purpose

It’s a small but full of character town.

It’s a small but full of character town. We came for the gig that was in The TLT (Tommy Leddy Theatre) and decided to spend an extra day in Drogheda. A heavily historic town known for the 1649 Cromwellian siege, the Battle of the Boyne site, and the shrine of St. Oliver Plunkett Drogheda offers a mix of traditional, older architecture with modern amenities, retail areas, and riverside walks.

Drogheda is a lovely town with great transport links (just off the M1 and on the train line to Dublin and Belfast). It had a lot more history than I’d expected in the town with parts of the city walls, a gatehouse and tower still standing. There were lots of friendly cafes and restaurants (Borzalinos and Aisha’s cafe and bistro to name two) too. Drogheda is also a great location to stay for visiting Newgrange passage tombs and the Battle of the Boyne site. In the summer it would also be a great place to stay for the beaches too.

The centre of Drogheda is compact and easy to get around on foot. Drogheda is steeped in history and there are several historic monuments in the city. If you are able to tour beyond the city, there are also more rural attractions in the Boyne Valley.

Friendly town on the River Boyne.

Friendly town on the River Boyne. Town centre is busy and has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Many attractions to visit locally especially Bru na Boinne ancient monuments, Boyne Valley Camino and The Mary McAleese bridge.. In town St Peter's Church is notable for the shrine to the newish St Oliver Plunkett. Ate at Al Forno Italian, very good.

This Airbnb is in a great location when you visit newgrange and the Bru Na Boinne monuments. You can walk into Drogheda for dinner. The hosts are really nice. Breakfast was great with fruits and vegetables from their own garden. Room was very comfy. A great stay.
