We had a premium double room with balcony. Breakfast was excellent. Very modern room with huge balcony. The plugs in the room was equipped with ports to plug in your devices. Great shower and fabulous bathroom. We loved this hotel. Oh and the parking garage was so clean and easy to access.

The owner are incredible nice. It feels like staying with family. They give great advices. They upgraded our room because a better one was available. The breakfast is delicious, the location is close to the old town (10min walking) and they even offer a free shuttle transfer 3 times a day. It is a little paradise with a great view and a real Italian charm.

The spa was fantastic! It was huge with a pool, jacuzzi, Turkish and Swedish steam room (both enjoyable) and a relaxation lounge. Only improvement would be ice water or cucumber water offered. We truly enjoyed our stay in the centrally located hotel. Amenities were excellent, as well.

A Bastion of Old World Charm

The arrival point of low-cost airlines with cheap flights to Milan, beautiful Bergamo is a tourist destination in its own right. In the foothills of the Alps, the city is spread over 2 levels. The main sights are in the upper level, or Città Alta, where sloping, cobbled streets open into pretty squares.

One such square is Piazza Vecchia with its sidewalk cafés, beautiful library and elegant Palazzo della Ragione. Through its arches is the Cappella Colleoni, an impressive chapel with an ornately sculpted façade and even more ornate interior. The nextdoor Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore has awe-inspiring frescoes.

Surrounding streets contain several Bergamo old town hotels and B&Bs, while surrounding the whole upper city are 17th-century Venetian walls. There are still remains of the Rocca, the castle that guarded them, and there is also a castle in San Vigilio, a hilltop village reached by a cable car.

A cable car also descends to the modern town, Città Bassa. Nearby is the Accademia Carrara, a fine art gallery, across from the GAMEC modern art museum. The Serie A club Atalanta FC plays in a stadium to the northeast, while southwest is the train station where buses to Orio al Serio Airport depart.

Loved the area with lots to see in Bergamo itself. Trips to the higher level of the city were great. Plenty restaurants bars and supermarkets. Travel from Bergamo to surrounding area was easy whether to see one of the lakes or a trip to Milan. We will return

Bergamo is a beautiful city that truly deserves more than a day to explore. We initially planned just a day trip, but while discovering its charm, we wished we had stayed longer. The medieval city has a unique character, with stunning views from the top and a magical atmosphere in the old town. Taking the Funicolare Città Alta is definitely worthwhile and adds to the experience. We highly recommend visiting Bergamo and would love to return one day to spend more time exploring this wonderful city.

Nice little town, vibrant community during weekends. Many nice restaurants and bars. Music at every corner during weekends and quiet during week days. Perfect for nice walks. Nice rides with the cable car. I would like to go back!

Bergamo is easily one of the most beautiful cities in all of Italy. It's so so clean compared to other Italian cities. It reminds of a Swiss city because it's very clean. And the Citta Alta is fantastical....like in a movie or fairy tale. Bergamo is one of my three favorite cities

Mix of upper historic old town and lower "new" town. All within walking distance if you enjoy a good climb (but there is also a lift;-). Beautiful duomo and cathedral. World class collection of gothic paintings in the academia Carrara museum. Excellent modern art museum.

The Citta Alta is very picturesque but it gets packed with...

The Citta Alta is very picturesque but it gets packed with foreign tourists. Brescia and Mantova were far less crowded and more charming as a result. We didn't have time to explore the lower town which was a mistake.

The room is a smoler size but very cozy, everything was pretty much new and very clean, there is a AC ( while traveling in italy in summer i think its a great thing ) the bed was big and very comfortable, got the best sleep in all of my trip. There is no kitchen but dont worrie, the very nice hosts will tell you the best spots to eat at. The room is very close to higher part of the city ( about 10-15 min. Walk up hill ). If ever i come back to bergamo this is the place to stay 100%

The hotel is a gem for Bergamo. It is located very close to the motorway, with easy access to the airport and within walking distance to the city centre and the bus stop to take you to the old town. The staff is friendly, they speak English, and are willing to help, always with a smile. The rooms were clean and spacious, had air conditioning, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. I would highly recommend it and you will feel so welcomed!

Excellent small family run hotel. Federica the host is bubbly and very welcoming. Our room was perfect. High ceiling with beams, king size bed very confortable. Balcony and regular church bells to remind you that you are in Italy!😁 For breakfast you have a choice of cheeses, cold meats, bread, cereals and lots of cakes. It is walking distance from the station and not far from the funicular for the old town. A good variety of nearby restaurants.

The location was perfect! Right in the middle of the Cittá Alta. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Two bedrooms (one with a double bed and two single beds and the other with a double bed and one single bed), two fully equipped and working bathrooms, kitchen and living room. The location is very close to the old town. The bus stop for the airport is next to the hotel. The train station is nearby. I had the room with old furniture, probably to be renovated. The bed was very comfortable, the rooms are cleaned every day. Very good varied breakfast. All in all, it was a successful vacation. Bergamo is a very beautiful city.
