Very nice and helpful people are working in Pittini hotel. Well equipped rooms, clean and cosy. The breakfast is 10 out of 10! With nice romantic view of the lake from the restaurant.

Lovely view from the terrace. Beautiful location. Well equipped kitchen. The pool looks really attractive, and is in a real sun-trap. The host was really helpful in trying to address any concerns we had, and tried hard to make sure we had a good stay.

Brand new! Very contemporary architecture with high-end finishes. One of the nicest swimming pools I’ve ever seen with beautiful design and infinity edge with the Swiss Alps in the background. Great restaurant for drinks and breakfast. The grounds are immaculate and expertly designed. The check in process was professional with a personalized tour of the property and the room. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

The view from our room was the best! The staff was very friendly and recommended us a lot of thing to do. Also they've a restaurant in Varenna they've a shuttle service with a cute tuk tuk. Highly recommended!

Location and facilities are amazing. We had a partial view to the lake, with the room by the swimming pool, which we really appreciated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is really amazing and the closeness to nature makes it a perfect stay.

This is a remarkable small town with an interesting history...

This is a remarkable small town with an interesting history right on Lake Como. The Museum of the End of the War is exceptional. There are many things to see and do in the surrounding area and it is away from the crowded areas of Lake Como. Definitely worth a stay in Dongo.

Nice little town on the lake.

Nice little town on the lake. Several good restaurants that are easy to walk to. Plenty of great walks into the mountains or along the lake. Some wonderful old churches to visit. Easy access to the boat to get to other parts of the lake. Friendly locals.

Dongo is not so touristy as some villages on the lake.

Dongo is not so touristy as some villages on the lake. It feels like you are getting the real Italian experience. Plenty of Good restaurants in the town. Good transport links to travel by boat or bus to other villages. It’s easy to walk around and we enjoyed a swim from the local beach which has shade if required.

The owners are delightful, lovely people.

The owners are delightful, lovely people. Their hospitality is wonderful. The property is charming but a bit more run down than the photos show. The finish work is rough, the street is noisy and the smaller room needed a bit more storage space bedside and in bathroom shelves. However, if you are used to no air conditioning and no screens on windows along with barking dogs and jackhammering in the street, the charm is real. I have real mixed feelings because these people are wonderful and their breakfasts are great. But don't go expecting fine furnishings. This is roughly finished with a lot that could be improved, but a lot of good too. We rented bikes and rode around the lake and drove around too. Love this area.
