It's a very charming old stone house in old town Gradoli. The interior has been recently renovated. We were impressed by the attention to detail put into every facet of the decor. The home has three floors. You enter the living room from the main alleyway. Upstairs is a bedroom and half bathroom. Downstairs is the kitchen, full bath, and washing machine. There is a second entrance in the kitchen, which leads to the small back alley. Everything is new, clean and smells good. Everything, from the washing machine to the cookware, to the espresso machine, is new and of high quality. The old style windows are double paned and keep out what little noise there is. We especially appreciated how well the space in this rather small house is utilized. The town of Gradoli isn't touristy. There isn't much to see actually, but it's very near Lake Bolsena, and the villages of Bolsena and Marta. Also, Pitigliano is not far away. There's a small museum in Gradoli displaying medieval clothing. It's only open from 10am to 1pm, so keep that in mind. I found it worth while and no crowds. Driving through old Gradoli with its narrow streets may be a little challenging for some, but it's easy to find free parking both inside and outside the old city gate. We enjoyed our stay there. Not only was the rental comfortable and cheerful, but we also got to experience a more authentic Italian village.
