Borgo dei Gatti in Golferenzo is a magical place to relax and to experience all the joys of the Italian countryside along with a lovely spa. There is a cat who welcomed us and visited each morning and evening. Paola, the hostess, is a gem of a soul— so thoughtful and sweet and charming! The daily breakfast in a basket is a feast! The pool has a lovely view. The various places to eat are splendid. It is a quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating experience to stay there. It’s location is off the beaten track, yet just 1/2 from the train station, where they picked us up. As an American, I loved every charming detail— all very reasonably priced for an absolutely splendid experience! I would give it 20 stars or more!

Peaceful stay at an historic Mill. We were greeted upon arrival and the hosts where very gracious. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and the dinner was beyond expectations. Very memorable. I recommend highly.

Il Castello was so lovely - a beautiful, historic castle, lovingly resurrected and preserved by Caterina, our hostess. She's a wonderful, warm host, and is full of information about the local surroundings, restaurants, etc. Our room was wonderful - so large, with a sitting room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. It had been the apartment of her parents. The rooms and public areas are filled with very interesting treasures and books collected by Cristina. The breakfast was outstanding, with delicious local pastries, eggs cooked to order and lots of extras. We enjoyed out stay so much - we hiked in the gorgeous, vineyard-filled countryside, and ate at some wonderful local restaurants. We recommend Il Castello highly and hope we visit again.
